So my overboard discharge has never worked since owning the boat. Frankly not sure how it should work but I know this sensor connected to the through hull has something to do with detecting if the thru hull is open or close. Does anyone have any idea how it works to sense if open or closed? Was down cleaning the bilge today and it more or less came lose with little effort.

On mine this is the closed position. Turn the handle 90 degrees CCW from this angle and end of the handle goes from 9:00 to 6:00 making contact with that button, and then the macerator works. Looks like I have the same switch as you -- just not sure how yours came loose like that  Maybe you can put it back in place with the 2 screws.

I didn't mean to imply that the macerator starts working when you open the valve -- just that it completes the circuit and allows it to work if I go down it the cabin and press the discharge switch.

That looks like a waterproof momentary contact switch made by Control Products, Inc (CPI), in a custom-made housing. It's probably a normally open switch. When the handle is moved to the open position it closes the contacts to energize a circuit or turn on an indicator light.

Thank

Thanks, I've an idea of how it works now based on your pic. Looks like I'm missing a piece that goes over the black button.

Thanks, now to see if i can find a replacement if not parts on line.

I don't see anything like that in CPI's catalog. It seems like it's a combination of parts of their "E1120 Low Simulated Roller Angle Mount", attached to a custom base, plus the limit switch itself. It looks to me like the stainless trigger has broken off.

I would suggest you reach out to CPI at sales@cpi-nj.com. Include the application, your photo, and Phil's photo. They may be able to tell you if they made that part custom, and perhaps where to get it. CPI sells off-the-shelf stuff via distributors, but also to manufacturers directly. I needed a specific type of switch and mount, and their sales team was very helpful in locating a vendor that stocked it.

Very helpful.. thank you!

Replacement parts? Shoot...seems like a butt splice connecting those two black wires ought do the trick quite nicely :)

That whole thing reminds me of the anti-reverse circuit on my riding lawn mower...

Ok, so i found the part however its on the Princess Yachts website. Guy has 1 in stock but won't sell it to me without a princess hull ID #. Otherwise the part is manufactured by Dometic and their resellers are about 12 plus weeks out on getting it in. Any has a Princess hull ID number handy???? LOL.
