where does this wire go please?

I am reinstalling a 2006 Mag 350 mpi and it is now back in the hull. Turns over but doesn't fire up. Fuel pump works as i can hear it prime. I do have one connector that does not seem to have a female socket to go into. The origine of the wire runs along the top of the engine past the injectors, drops down the front of the engine behind the alternator and down towards the fuel pump/cooler. The alternator is fully connected, the fuel module is fully connected and the starter motor is fully connected. Looking at wiring diagrams my best guess is it is part of the charging/starting harness. I am stuck on this. Anyone got any ideas where this cable goes please?

Just a guess…. Based on length and the connecter it may go to the crankshaft position sensor.
