The future of EVs? Maybe not so bad?

New scout would be produced by VW.
Did you understand my post? They can rape the name all they want and it will not be a Scout. Just wait for the Sea Ray name to be sold to some foreign conglomerate building junk cheap boats and see if you think that is a Sea Ray…

No, I didn’t catch that.

I’m not happy with scout being owned by VW. Also not happy with Jeep being owned by Fiat.

Agreed, but at least Jeep is still has some connections to the past. Everything in my post is just a name that is whored out by the vultures that circle bankrupt companies.

VW has only owned the name since July of 2021, they got the name when they bought out Navistar.

That’s a pretty significant advantage that electric cars have over gasoline. You can’t refill an ICE with electricity, but you can recharge an EV with gas.

You can have the best of both with plug in hybrids.
We took a trip yesterday that would have been difficult with a pure EV.

Read a post today on Seeking Alpha where Biden wrote a leter to oil companies yesterday chastising them for high prices and saying he will do whatever it takes to get production up and prices down.....Come on Joe. You started this mess and now expect others to think you are a hero for trying to 'fix' it?

There has to be some truth to that.... why else would locomotives be diesel electric?

I believe it has to do more with the torque available thru an electric motor vs a diesel. At least that's what I remember from when I was calling on the Electromotive engine plant in McCook IL.

It's certainly a clown show.

That’s an interesting read. The scary part of that is it’s not Biden that has control of our economy, it’s the oil companies.
That was your take-away? How about the part where Biden campaigned on getting rid of fossil fuels? You can't have it both ways. At some point (hopefully this November) this administration will get its due.

I’m not saying he carries no blame. But you also need to be aware of the underlying message here that the oil companies (or whoever they report to) are ultimately the ones in control.
