Trying to get a couple of more years out of my cabin carpet (27 amberjack). Has anyone used a portable steam cleaner that they like? They're pretty reasonable and could use at home as well, but don't want spend the money if they can't touch some mildew spots in the carpet.

I rented a carpet cleaner with the upholstery attachment from Home Depot and was happy with the results plus it was easy to use.
 
When we bought the 420DA, the wife went on Amazon and bought a Bissell unit-green machine or something like that. Used pet stain remover for the cleaner and it came out near perfect.

Here it is. Have used it a few times on the car/truck seats and carpets.

I have never been a fan of water steaming cleaning carpet. I prefer to use the dry chemicals. A place called Chem-Dry did a previous house, as well as the boat I just purchased before I purchased it. You can purchase these chemicals yourself.
