Parked this thread in the Tiki bar for those who may be interested. We moved to a house on the water not too long ago and moved to an outboard boat (2006 Hydra Sports 2900VX twin Yamaha 250s) with a small cabin, genny, and head (gotta keep the admiral happy). Anyway buying is a shit show so I bought a boat with good bones but a little dirty and have been upgrading it. Here are some pics. I painted it with Alexseal topcoat.......turned out good but it took me 9 straight days of prep and paint....never again.....damn. Added the aft top in Stamoid with a 1 " SS frame, custom engine covers, Infinity flooring in the cabin and cockpit, Fusion stereo and sub with 4 new polk 6.5s, re-upholstered the stinky cabin cushions, and have rebuilt the vacuflush, serviced the genny, went through the twin Yamaha 250.s, added a Garmin MFD, and new VHF. Lots of other small stuff. Here are some pics.

Wow!! Fantastic. I wonder who made all the canvas and carpet? ;)

Real class act! I love the profile of your top extension. That is exactly the type of boat I see us getting when we are done with the monster. I won't own two real properties but when we are done with ranch life I can see getting a place on the water and then down sizing in boat.

boat looks great, excellent work on the paint.

Looks great Dave. I seem to remember an issue with your dock being on someone else's property or a shared dock? Have you had any problems with that?

That boat looks fantastic now. The hull color is beautiful. Can't go wrong with the Yamaha's.

So congrats from one ex-SeaRay'er to another.

Old dock was dilapidated and shared with the neighbor. We had it tore down and we both got new docks! 9 month wait for dock builders.......they did a great job I will say.

Love the boat and love the lifestyle. Very envious here. I am starting step one of the next stage our our life with retiring this fall, tearing down our cottage on Georgian Bay and replacing it with a house to be the main residence in a few years. Step 2 will be do downsize the mother ship house and find a place on the water in Florida for the winter. Step by step. Not yet living the dream, but definitely still working on it.
