Greetings from the far north, fellow Americans. Hoping for some recommendations if possible.

I've got a wedding to attend in Austin at the end of July. We'll be arriving such that we have a free day before the wedding day. We're considering renting a pontoon boat.

Any of you folks have recommendations for places we should rent from? Any places to avoid? Is this a terrible idea? This would be two couples, both of which are avid boaters, looking to enjoy a day of boating in a new place with substantially warmer water than we're used to.

Beaching and having a drink or three would be ideal. Maybe a place to dock for dinner, if that kind of thing exists?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts you guys might have!

We are not located on Lake Travis - but have visited several times over the years.

Yes, to all your questions - those places exist. Will have to let someone current on local knowledge comment on specifics. Wonderful lake. It kind of meanders in between the hills.

An enjoyable day for sure. (note: It will be hot!)

Yeah....I'm currently in the midst of figuring out what the dress code "summer wedding" means. For now the men have agreed that we're not wearing suits, we don't want to die of heat stroke. But I have no idea what crazy Texan's wear to July weddings :)
