Golf Carts….. If you have one let’s see it

Holy hell! Does everyone there have a golf cart?! Is there room to park by your slip when you're there?
Yes…. Two car parking spots out front…. But there is no where to go. I don’t get it. My cart is going to the island ….no reason to have one in the marina

Blueone, so this facility is your home marina, correct? When you say you're not going to keep it there but will be keeping it on the island, what does that mean? Do you have another slip on the island and a place to leave your cart?

Well ….wasted a day of my life trying to plate the golf cart

4 hour drive to the Marblehead police station for the inspection. Problem I had was the thing does 31mph and legal is 19mph. So I convinced myself I could talk my way out of that. Get there this kid cop comes out. Clip board in hand and starts checking boxes. I said you want me to take it off the trailer….. he said don’t bother…… yaaaaaaa!!…. cop told me to go to bmv.

wait in line at bmv ….. see the guy and he says I need a title….. he said go to court house and get a title ….. off I go.

court house lady needed Ss # and an Ohio address so used marina address…. and said my ss#…. It worked….. back to bmv

wait in line get same guy…. I said oh no not you again. He says drivers license please…. So give it to him and he says I can’t give you an Ohio plate with an Indiana drivers license. He said he would need my SS card…. I said I don’t have that but I can tell you the number. I argued the golf cart angle a bit I wasn’t getting anywhere. So I said “look if you’re not going to bend the rules I’m leaving”…. He took it as a threat…. The guy beside me laughed…. Other ladies looked up at me…. I thought holy crap people… lighten up :)

Tough day

Rest assured, if it's being done right, it's not being done at the Ohio BMV.

The island we go to all the time is put in bay…we reserve almost every weekend at the beginning of the season….the managers give us the same slip and we are good friends now. The island is almost all golf carts….To rent a cart over night is $115 and we rent it for 2 days. That was getting old so decided to buy a cart and leave it there. We belong to a yacht club on the island and they will let me store it there… it’s outside but I have a cover.

so funny story when you rent a golf cart almost every weekend you get to know the fast ones and the slow ones…. So Memorial Day weekend he gives me 22..I said what the Phuck?…. He starts pointing ….. see the 60’ over there….. see the 55’ over there, the 50’ over there… god damn it my boat is too short.

Last year at Kellys Island, our big club special at Seaway Marina was a 6 person cart for the price of a 4.
One day - $150.
Split across 6 people it's not that bad but what a racket.
So you pay that and go fuel up for the ride home.

Success… got a license plate this morning…. It’s on the ferry on its way to the island. You can just see the beige roof

Reunited….. I did it…. Got it inspected, titled at the court house and licensed it at the BMV…. You have no idea how hard that was…. Then broke all laws driving it on roads to the ferry…. Got it on a ferry and delivered to the marina….. and here it sits behind the boat… success !!!

Cool! Now go get on it and go bar hoping! Find the coldest Miller Lite on the island!

The cart next to it is looking at yours with envy.

Installed a battery level gauge yesterday. I don't feel the need to have it staring at me on the dash, so mounted it under the seat. Just need to ziptie the wires next time over to the marina.

The guage shows overcharge when batteries are fully charged because it's a 48v guage and the batteries will show about 8.6v when charged. More than 48v in reality (51v +/-).
