I just installed VesselView Mobile in my 2004 340. In my boat and likely yours you will find a smartcraft junction box behind your gauges at the helm. You need a spare port on the box to plug the VesselView mobile into. That cable you are holding isn’t the 10 pin you are looking for. Without the junction box usage you can put the VesselView in place of the yellow terminator on the bus and them plug the terminator on the 2nd cable of the VesselView mobile device. The cable will look like this https://www.mercruiserparts.com/8m0058668-ext-harness-10-pn

Here’s all the junction box options and cables etc. find your junction box and if there’s a spare unused port you can just plug the VesselView into it and you are good to go. If no spare ports then you have to get a junction box with more ports. I just upgraded from the 6 port I had with no spares to an 8 to install my VVMobile. It’s cool to have just did a 500 mile trip and loved having the iPad showing me all my gauges etc rather than the eye test of my smart craft gauges

I have a 6 port now that I don’t need if you want one cheap
My 6 port filled was
1 power
1 port engine
1 stbd engine
1 smart craft speedo, common to port and stbd
1 port tach
1 stbd tach
Nothing left.... got the 8 port and simply moved all cables into it .... used 1 for VesselView ... now have 1 spare.
Note that there are 2 part numbers for the 8 port junction boxes...1 comes with a few dust covers which I needed one to cover my unused port. The cheaper one has no dust covers

Here is the purple dust cover for the smartcraft connector on my engine.

My 2002 had the connector on each respective engine, but no wiring or J-box. Sometimes they tuck them out of the way and can be hard to find, but you should have them. That connector in your hand is a diagnostic connector used to read codes and configure things.

Speaking of which, both engines would have shipped from the factory as engine #1. In order to enable smart craft, you need to have your starboard engine configured as #2 else weirdness ensues. That diagnostic connector has to be hooked up to a PC running Diacom software, OR to a TechMate Pro scanner, in order to set the engine identity. Both are available from Rinda Technologies, but they are pricey. Might be better to just hire a Merc Tech to come out and do the deed.

Once the engines are setup, you'll need to run the engine SC harnesses to a J-box near the helm, with each end of the bus terminated. Then your VV device plugs into the J-box.

Ok guys I dug deeper and found this. It this the plug in looking for to hook up vessel view? Blue tooth adaptor?

Does anyone know where it would be located on a 2003 320 DA?

That’s it. I connected my vvm there and zip tied it to the wiring harness. The BT connection reaches to the windshield, so you can get the data while you are underway.

For single or multi engine?
There should be one for each engine. If you have multiple engines, each plug should be run to a junction box. Also Power should be supplied by only one engine, typically the Port. On the other engine(s) you should disconnect the two wire power pigtail located on the SC harness.

Cool thanks for the info going to order one today. anyone know were to get it for the best price? any sales out there?

finally got my end of line resistor and it connected but don't see all the data? can seem to find oil pressure and the RPM's read funny about 1000 rpm different than my gauges on the boat I.E. the app said 4450 and my gauges only read 3100 anything i need to set up? I know the gauge are somewhat accurate because I also used a tach light at one point last year and I know the sound of these motors by now

Hi Chris,
Finally found this connector on my 2003 280DA, did you have to get a different terminator cap to make it work?
Thanks, Bill
