I almost ran aground. Flet like the boat bottom was scraping. It was sand not rocks. Propeller blades were damaged. What should be my next move.

Sonar said I was in 2.3 ft

That sounds pretty much dead on correct.

Next move... assess the damage. Propeller... possibly an impeller... possibly sand in block. Physically check things and even pull the block drains to look for sand. Flush if you need to. Get the prop repaired. Inspect the hull bottom.

Thanks. FYI I immediately raised the outdrive

At 10 knots, you were pushing a lot of water, bow high and the stern sunk way down low. 2.3 Ft of water in too shallow for that boat to be operated like that. A slower speed and out drive trimmed up may have been ok.

FYI, if the depth reading is flashing, it’s not accurate. That means it can’t get a good reading. If yours was flashing at the time, it may have been even shallower than you thought.

Sand is not good for the impeller. I'd replace the impeller to be safe, inspect it at a minimum.

Thanks for all your responses. Will follow you your advice.
