The future of EVs? Maybe not so bad?

you do not need to keep your hands on the wheel when the screen prompts you just touch the radio volume (left wheel ) button and your good. We have a model Y I drove on I75 today for 30 miles hands free at 85 mph until I had to exit.
I’m thinking of canceling my 2022 Bronco and getting a model 3 20mpg vs $8-$12 per 300 miles on our Tesla. Hmmmmm
Do you know if ford is working on a Bronco EV? I think Jeep is working on a wrangler, and I would absolutely replace my current wrangler with an electric one.

Currently they offer a plug in hybrid wrangler, I’ve seen $65k asking prices on them.

Personal attacks are not necessary…

Not a personal attack, simply stating a fact.
May have been mostly directed at your statement , but definitely includes MANY more deluded individuals than just you.

Don’t know exact numbers, and do not care.

Anything >1 is too many to die from computer error, and it is way more than 1.
Computer error is ultimately just human error.

it’s no different getting creamed by someone not paying attention. You’re still dead.

Since 2016 there has been 12 Autopilot deaths worldwide https://www.tesladeaths.com/
Just in 2016 more than 36,000 human operater deaths I’ll take my chances with my Tesla and stay away from everyone else.

I haven’t heard of an EV bronco coming out they’re making a Raptor version I ordered a 2.7 Ecoboost last year and at this rate who knows when I’ll get it.

EDIT: I stand corrected looks like there is a plan for a “hybrid version”

Can't wait for the majority of drivers to rely on "autopilot". It will make it MUCH easier for me to move though traffic to get to where I need to be!! :D

True "autopilot" should actually follow the rules of the road. For example, after they pass a car they should get back in the right-most lane. Too many existing drivers don't do that. This doesn't apply to the cars that are using ADAS "cruise control", which won't change lanes but just maintain the vehicle in whatever lane the driver put it in. Those could be more of a problem.

That ADAS car also won't try to block you if you pass on the left.

I read an article from the Stellantis CEO not too long ago (I'm a Chrysler retiree) where he said the issue with electric vehicles is the supply chain for EV materials is not capable of mass production and if/when it does become available, it will be reliant on China for those materials. His view of EV isn't at all positive.

Finally someone in the industry not preaching the BS.

Interesting read of the last 14 pages. For sure many varied opinions on the subject. For me being an old guy I am trying to get as many Hemi's in the stable before the party comes to a close the second quarter of 2023. We now have a 2022 Durango SRT on order to replace our 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT. It will join our 2019 Charger Hellcat and Supercharged 2014 Dodge Challenger. I still have one more space in the garage if something else comes our way it can join the party. Long live the ICE!!
