Good morning does anyone know if there is a scanner to plug-in 5.0 MerCruiser fuel injection to see what my problem could be

Try increasing the throttle a little a see if it still stalls. If it runs without stalling at a higher RPM you probably want to look at the IAC Valve. If it is the IAC they are usually a simple and relatively inexpensive DIY fix.

Need more information on your application. Year, hours, salt or fresh water, outdrives or inboards, last tune, type of fuel injection mpi or throttle body, etc.

There is a Rinda scan tool designed to work with your ECM-555 (if that's what you have ...)

He probably has a mefi 3 but that same tool will work with a different attachment for the plug

Thank you guys I will try it

Thanks Kevin I tried to replace the IAC and it’s still doing it is there anyway to test that to see if that lAC Is getting power to it

Maybe this link will help with diag on an IAC:

But if you replaced it with a good IAC then I would probably look elsewhere ("New" does not equal "Know Good" - especially with some of the cheap junk available online from China). While the wiring could be the issue and can not be ruled out I would start thinking about other possible causes.

Smitty,
This is cheap enough to help ya. I keep one on the boat and thank god i never had to use it. $110 boat buck is a steal

Wanted to thank everybody for helping me out gave the boat a tuneup and discovered that the distributor cap was soaking wet inside that’s why my boat would not run hopefully this can help somebody in the future

Also with IACs, if the wiring is OK they can get barbon'd up and stuck over time. When that happens I've had good results with taking it out, spraying with brake cleaner or electronics cleaner and it's good as new.
