Bed Topper or Memory Foam?

I have been sleeping on the aft cabin sofa, the electric one that pulls out, on the 380DA. I am 6'3" so my feet/legs hang over on the bed in the forward cabin. The aft cabin sofa is mostly comfortable though I think adding a topper or memory foam will make it more comfortable. We are leaving the sofa out as a bed so I can make this a permanent addition.

What do you prefer, and what topper or foam pad did you go with?

Thanks

So the Costco one is a Costco brand? I don't use Costco thus why I am asking. I can ask a friend to pick it up for me though.

We tried a 2-inch memory foam/gel topper. Our experience was that it slept hot and we got "stuck" in the depression after sinking into it.

What worked better for us was a 4-inch "egg crate" mattress topper. It's not really 4 inches thick, that's the measurement from the base to the top of the "cones" - the tips squish down and there are valleys. We found that type of topper to be lighter, cooler, more durable, and we didn't get stuck in it.

Got it from Amazon - didn't have to venture into Bed Bath and Beyond.

Yeah, I have an older Tempur-Pedic at home, love it, but it does get hot. And to my surprise after 10 years it's dipping/sinking on my side but not the other side where the light Misses sleeps, and was empty for a long time.

One stateroom has a MyPillow topper - I'd rate that a 7.
The MSR has a Viscosoft Serene Hybrid - I'd rate that a 9.5
I prefer the softer beds...

I took a look at the viscosoft. I like what I see, good reviews, appears to be high quality. The aft cabin sofa is a weird size though so I'm wondering if it will look odd since I won't be able to cut it. For example if it's sticking out further than the sofa. Do you have any experience with this and yours?

Not with the Viscosoft, it fits the bed, but on the MyPillow topper I removed the cover then trimmed it to fit the shape of the bed then re-stitched the cover to match. Easy.... Use an electric knife to cut the foam; makes perfect cuts.

Currently having a custom mattress made for the capt's qrtrs with 2 layers of 4" memory foam amd fitted sheets.

Should have it by next week, I'll report back.

Has anyone had a customer air mattress made? Or know a place that makes them? Our V birth requires 4 large cushions and then a memory foam topper to make it comfortable. These all take up a lot of storage space on the boat when we want to convert the v birth to a table again. I would like to find a place that makes custom size air mattresses that I could inflate and deflate when needed.
