Afternoon,
New to the forum, so if im posting this in the wrong area apologies all around.
Bought a 2022 Sea Ray 190SPX recently and only have 2 hours on it. On the hour meter there is a flashing B before the hours.
Is this for Break In? Like to indicate the break in period?
I've looked through the owners manual and couldnt find anything along with searching the web.
Also if I can bother anyone with another question.
So when I approach the dock, raising the trim as i approach (quite shallow 2.5" - 3") and quite slow the engine shuts off with a "beeeep". Itll fire right back up, but it'll do the same thing within a 30 secs or a minute.
I couldnt say exactly what my trim level was or what the RPMs were though. Using the Mercury Vessel View, it doesnt show any fault. Not sure what could be causing that.
I had a '95 Sea Ray 180BR before and approached the same dcok the same way and never had an issue.
Thanks for any insight you may have.

Ohh man....a 2022 model year boat, I can't even imagine the technology on that thing!

When you raise the trim are you still above idle? I'm wondering if it's shutting down because you're getting too high on the trim with too much throttle?

I bet that boat has 12 ways to protect itself from weird operating scenarios. I also agree with the above, a quick call to your dealer will give you loads of info...you'd hope.

Is the blinking B on your gauge the Bluetooth indicator? On the spec sheet it says that standard is "Mercury VesselView® Mobile – links to your iPhone® or Android™ mobile device via Bluetooth® technology." I think the gauge is looking for a phone to pair to. The vessel view mobile app is awesome, it would probably tell you what the issue is when you are trimming up and the engine cuts off too.

I’m betting as Stee said, we always told don’t run with too much up trim, hard on gimbal.
Maybe it’s a protection feature, but in upper Chesapeake where we often run in shallow water it’s not a feature it’s a bug.

Do you mean 2.5’-3’?? Or are you actually in 3” of water.

check depth with a stick and make sure your transducer is adjusted as you want

With zero offset, a thru hull is telling you the depth under the boat, not the actual water depth which could be 1’ or more deeper.

So, Josh, did we help you figure it out? Hour Glass, B, what is it? Hope we could help out.
