I was reviewing the email you sent me prior to this post. The website has different kits, one for B and non B.

Thank you, that was my assumptionYou want the strait up 3126, not B. You can tell by the anode counts.

You are doing the baselining right!
You'll have a couple of worry free Cats.
BTW - there is no way to get water into the intakes unless the aftercooler has failed. You'll have to work hard to put it together wrong.
Didn't you have a problem with a corroded freeze plug on one of the turbos? How did all of that come out?
This boat was a California dock queen, apparently all her life with only 435 hours on her at purchase.
PO was good with oil changes and zincs, but less than attentive regarding cooling system maintenance and other PM matters.
I arrived at the boat day before survey and found paperwork left onboard that showed repairs to freeze plug at bottom of turbo done twice, the second time with epoxy.
CAT engine survey coolant samples showed the coolant was past its life expectancy and that the stbd turbo was beginning to pass oil.
1. freeze plug leaked (likely rusted through)
2. CA mechanic replaced freezeplug, but it still leaked
3. mechanic installed freezeplug #2 with epoxy, claiming the freezeplug "hole" was damaged.
Tom Mott recommended Dave at DMS Turboblueprinters in West Palm Beach. Dave looked at the turbo and said he could likely clean it up and replace the freeze plug.
Turbo was rebuilt and I reinstalled it. I chose not to paint the turbo CAT white, but went with VHT high temp paint instead.

Thanks Tom, for the lead on DMS Turboblueprinters !
BEST !

Pretty sure that I got mine at Tractor SupplyI read on here to use a 3/4 16 tpi 1 1/2 bolt to remove the raw water impeller. I have checked Home Depot, Lowes and Amazon for one, no luck. Is this thing a Unicorn? I found some that were $12 each. Seems a tad high to me.
3/4-16 is a standard UNF thread. Shouldn’t be that hard to find. 1-1/2 might be difficult. Maybe add a nut or two to make a 2” down to a 1-1/2?I read on here to use a 3/4 16 tpi 1 1/2 bolt to remove the raw water impeller. I have checked Home Depot, Lowes and Amazon for one, no luck. Interesting, I see all thread options out there and thought about the same. I'm prepping for our 8 hour trip over Memorial Day weekend. Current impellers are relatively new with low hours on them but ya never know.

Yep ordered this morningIf it were me, I'd spend the 12 bucks and move on to other prep items.
I thought the only source for a new turbo for 3126's was CAT, as it is proprietary to CAT (at least for some period of time). If this is the OEM replacement, that's good news.
#1J-9671 and ss-plug #114-9096Back to zincs. Anyone have a part number or size for the 3126 aftercooler zinc O rings?
