480 DB Water Intake Strainer

Yep. I’ve made several calls to suppliers that show in stock but they have none. General Supply called Buck Algonquin and they had no inventory but do have the casting. They quoted 10 weeks to ship.
Oh geez. Sorry to hear that. Wondering if there is a temp, short term solution that gets you back in the water.

Yes, I’m hoping for a work around. I’ll know more on Monday when I talk to Marina service. I did post a Help thread.

My last boat was on the hard for many years before I purchased it. It obviously was the local "parts" boat. Literally 1/2 of the generator was missing, cabin mirrors gone, engine parts missing, etc.

Look around, just saying...;)

Kidding, of course. I would think this would be an easy salvage part to pick up even if you have to take it off yourself. Or maybe there is a different model/style that fits that is in stock.

I'm not able to help you, but how does that go missing, those are hinged in and part of the thru-hull right? There's an active thread right now about salvage, maybe you can find one in salvage.
Sorry to bother you again but how do I find the salvage thread?

I wouldn’t let this hold me up for one second. I would just monitor my strainer more closely. You’d be amazed as to what gets in the strainer even when that exterior grate is present. As long as the thru-hull is not compromised, I wouldn’t sweat it.

I was thinking the same but didn't want to be the person on here who said it out loud and then get beat up ;)

Well that sounds good to me. We’ve been out of boating since the mid 80’s, our last boat being a 26’ sundancer. This is a whole new ball game and a lot to learn. It looks pretty easy to pull out the strainer for inspection. Thank you. We’re on the Chesapeake Bay so by the time the order ships in September we’d be getting ready to winterize.

Well two minds are in agreement so that’s good enough for me. I think I will pour a drink and be happy.

Where on the Bay? Kent Island here for another couple of weeks.
The boat is in Oxford, Md. that’s just a little south of you below St Michael’s. Our slip is at Tolchester Marina. About a 2.5 hour cruise north from Oxford.

Correct

We did a weekend trip to St Michael's a couple weeks ago. Going to Chestertown next weekend. Weather pending I'll be moving the boat to the upper Potomac the end of the month. I live in Richmond Virginia.

Nice. We love St Michael’s. Hope you have good weather and a summer of great boating.
