FUEL PRICE WTH

Naw, I wouldn't say that....just a bit luckier. We bought the boat at the tail end of the Great Recession and sold it last year. After 10 years of putting hours on her we actually sold her for more than what we paid for her.

That doesn't happen often. :D
Wait a minute! Didn’t you buy a road warrior that gets about 2 mpg?

I got lucky on the last four boats, sold all of them for more than I paid for them.
And paid more for this one. It’s a no win game. Houses, boats, sell for more than paid, then what? You are going to buy something that the PO also is selling for more than he paid.
The only time the cycle ends is when youpay off the reverse mortgage, buy a casket, because there is usually not a previous owner. But you can get a hella deal if there was one.

I might be on to something. Billy Joe Bob’s used caskets. Hella business model. I don’t think it’s been done before.
You know how much a freaking casket is? Litterally throwing money into the ground. We put my mother in the cardboard box, dressed up to look like a casket. It burns better. :)

Whenever people tell Me they want to pay for fuel I tell them I burn 44gal hr and they tend to back off quickly even before $6gal diesel prices. It will cost me $264 per hr to run the boat this summer. I can’t stand cruising at hull speed but I might need to force my self to like it this summer. Good thing the kids are not going to college soon.

We are on a river set in from the open Atlantic so it's 20 mins of no wake speed before we can even go fast. Looks like we'll be doing cocktail-cruise speed a bunch this summer. This is normally when I pass @hottoddie in the wild.

I swear, I wish i could remember where I read this. Some guy wanted to have a Viking funeral, old boat, so his buds put him on it, lit it up, pushed it out on a lake on fire. Holy shit, tens of thousands of dollars in EPA, improper disposal of a body, pollution, etc fines involved.
Should have just tied a chain around him with a concrete block.

Advertise! Burial at sea cruises. Includes a Chinese made American flag tri folded to your family. And a 3 bottle rocket salute.

I don't care what the fuel costs. The worst thing I could ever imagine is not going boating. The second worst is having money left when I die. And If I run out ahead of time, the govt will take care of me.

Regardless, if the price isn't to your liking, it can all be fixed on the first Tuesday in November.

yeah, if your daily driver is an Abrams tank.
Yep. And if it’s a twin gas engine, it’s like a Abrams tank pullin a 40-ft fifth wheel!!

Yup, we have an old (1981) 13' Boston Whaler Sport that we used down in AZ. We brought it home last October and I'm cleaning it up for sale. This cancer crap has just f'd up my balance so I wouldn't feel safe being on it. For the record, that's also why we sold Beachcomber. I just could not be on deck any more. Sad but true.
