The Official 450 Express Bridge Owners Club

What's with the allure of a Galeon? There's like 5 in my basin. Here's a 325 and 500. There's a 425 and a 55 too. None with a fly. All helming inside. And the 325 with twin 400hp outboards, with a bow rider config. $549k, Holy Moly!View attachment 125698
I have never seen a Galeon out West. Tiara is very popular out here and the coupe model seems to be everywhere. They are a “sexy” looking boat with nice lines, but I prefer a flybridge. I had a discussion about this topic last weekend with a friend who has a 51’ Tiara. He asked me what other boats out there appealed to me. I think I rattled off three and he said “I guess you like flybridges”. :)

I have the fusion head unit in the little stereo cabinet on the helm, which is usually closed, so I use the remote to mostly pause and skip. Added another remote in the cockpit in place of an old wired remote and one just outside the transom door. I almost never use the app on the phone.
Looking forward to seeing the brand new canvas!

Me too, thwarted today by two rusted set screws. Had to drill them and go up a size from 1/4 to 5/16. Drilling and tapping stainless steel is fun, RME. Broke 3 bits and two trips to ACE tonight. At least the tap held up.

Maintenance recommendation, drop some Kroil on those 8 allen set-screws that allow adjustment of the enclosure structure every six months.

With any luck, hanging the curtains tomorrow evening.

Not done, but close enough for a pic before we lost the light. Will get some better pics tomorrow I hope. Still have everything open as we are still working

Beautiful looking Sea Ray you have there Kevin! You and your Admiral have certainly done an amazing job getting the boat in bristol fashion during your ownership. The old 450 EB is sure looking fresh and new once again!

Thx Jim, save my busted clamshells prominently featured if you zoom in.

Really the Admiral's sense to make a snap change on the bottom and boot stripe colors while we were in the yard.

Clamshells came in today, so will get them put back on tomorrow so I can wash the salt off from last Sunday.

Galleon Resort & Marina, Key West. Perfect location, walk downtown, but Marina is lined with bars/restaurants and numerous sunset sail excursion boats. Arrived today alternating running on step and 9 knots. Stopped overnight Marco Island on the hook on the way. 140nm from Sanibel Island bridge to entrance markers, Marco and NW channel Key West. Stunning couple run days. Find my 450 EB. Like find Waldo, lol.

Jack,
What a trip! Looks like fun.

Side note, is that first mate's chair permanent or does your table plug back in there?

Mate helm seat came in acquisition. Hole for table still there, all I need is a short pole & table width to fit between seat & bridge side. On my list but lo priority amongst other matters.

I found this today. This is a 4th quarter report from Denison Yacht Sales in 2012. Notice the 450 EB prices near the bottom of the page.

Ok, last pics of the canvas, I promise. Not sure why the aft curtains look wrinkled, they are flat in-person. In any case, 97% done. Just a few snaps to put in.

Thanks for posting.
Survey must have found a lot of $hit wrong with the 5th one from the bottom. My bet is she must have been wet along with what ever else they found. Thoughts?

10 yrs ago must have been a price slump. Which can happen. I come up with $209k ask price today, average, without highest and lowest. 6 boats I think of 8. Similar last June with 10 boats.

Forrest, did you get your canvas from Boatswain? I just did mine from them. My back two panels are wrinkled like yours. I could not get them any better.

I had issues. Mostly from the frame, not Boatswain fault. Apparently, my frame had been adjusted/modified when the canvas was redone before we got the boat. It took a few phone calls to Boatswain to get it all figured out. I still can't get the aft sides attached to the radar arch. They are too short, but I have a couple of ideas.

And I could not get the awning installed correctly. I got it decent and quit.

The windshield covers came out great.

All in all, much better that what I had, but not as good as I had hoped (my fault), but happy. This is one of those projects that I wish I had a "do-over". And, I saved a ton vs local canvas guys here.

Thanks
Larry
