We brought some windows for the boat,but they are not what I thought,,the windows are great, but the inserts are strange,they have a inserts are about an inch and half long, are we supposed to trim the inserts ?
 
Maybe...if I knew what you needed help with.

Where did you bring them from?

John, I think people are having difficulty understanding what the problem is with the windows you bought. Can you explain further what the problem is?

this is the width of the insert,my hull thickness is 1/2thick
 
It comes with a outer ring ,I think you sandwich the hull between the two rings,an cut off the excess?
 
I have no experience with this...though I find it hard to believe that you would have to trim to fit. Sounds like aftermarket part...meaning not an OEM replacement?

Sounds like you have the solution though...
 
It is, the boat is an 88 can nt find the original
Windows anymore, so aftermarket it is
 
Only thing that comes to mind other than the trimming you suggested is to walk the aisles of Lowes to see if you can find something to use as a spacer to wrap around to take up the inch gap.
