48 DA Owners Club

The rest are on page 123 of this post. Just have to open the hole a little to get it to fit and rework the vent tube in the back ever so slightly to pick up the needed depth. Easy install and happy admiral. Definitely they way to go.

Anyone know where I can buy replacement vents for the dash?

Soon as you say generator and maintenance in the same sentence…. I start bleeding

On one end of the generator's heat exchanger is the hexagonal bolt which when loosened and removed is the little zinc anode

Oh boy looks like its in the back side of the generator... I'll just have to bang my head and get a few more bruises from the engine room tightness... :)

Is there any easy technique (doubt it but I ask anyway :) ) or any special tools that you guys use to tighten up the rudder packing nuts?
Thanks!

It’s not that hard. Just remove the rear panel of the sound shield and slide it a few inches to Starboard. After that, easy peasy.

I bought wrenches for it. Awkward as hell to get back there laying on the generator and trying to get leverage. Knuckle buster so wear gloves. Tried to get my 100 pound kid to do it but not strong enough. So in goes the 6 footer 200 pounds again in a space I am not designed for to get this job done. I cranked mine down half a turn and no more leakage.

Hello,I’m thinking on tinting my side windows… has anyone done ceramic tinted windows on their boats? If so how dark did you go? Is it worth it? Any input is greatly appreciated
Thanks

We had ours done a few years ago, and went with 30% on the side windows and 5% on the top hatches. Very noticeable difference in the reduction in the heat gain the cockpit.

Stripped the teak and went with aemco teak sealer

Not a difficult task, just timely and a bit of elbow grease.
This is after I stripped it

And this is after 1 coat

And here is the second (not fully dry

Hopefully this is a better product tah the teak oil I was using

Looks good… yes dusty and nasty. You might get a season but I do it twice a year. Did you do you steps to the gunnel also?

Yessir. And the lower cockpit too.
The semco 2 part stripper worked surprisingly well

I did mine. 35% sides closest to the rear, 45% sides closest to front, and then 60% on the fronts. I stepped it like this on purpose because I boat at night a lot and wanted as good of visibility as possible. You can’t really tell they are different, but it all blocks significantly more heat and glare
