Mmm, I'd guess he was slowed down by the truck ahead but the boat wasn't.

Playing with a phone and a lack of strapping in the stern would be my guess.

.....and then this guy just finished a brake job on his trailer and on the test run, found they worked even better than he could have hoped.

When I'm towing, I imagine I have the trailer loaded with TNT behind. I drive very gently. It's worked, so far.

His tow rating on his hitch was probably too low for the weight of the trailer, so he found a way around it. LOL
One quick lane change and he would be on his ear.

Ha ha ha.....he makes me think he is the guy that says..."hold my beer, and watch this!"

And people laugh at me all the time at the ramp when I’m taking off my 10,000 lb ratchet straps. One over the bow and one over the stern.

12,500 lbs of boat isn’t going to stay put in a panic stop with just a safety chain

I could see that in Savannah....

l’ve seen that before, often actually. That’s a delivery driver, most likely already dropped off the trailer he was towing and the light fishing boat most likely isn’t much of a big deal for the dually.
Looks goofy up there though.

I did the same when towing my 330. Ratchet strap across the bow, one across the stern, two stern tie downs, bow chained to the bow stop (no winch up there, just a piece of I-beam). Rode like a dream.

Funny...

On another forum someone was complaining about why he needs stern tie downs because of his state's laws. He should see this thread.

Stern Tie downs, plus a bow tie down (not a safety chain), are what is needed.
