bravo 3 looks ok?

Look....if you've gone this far you should change/replace everything you can now while the drive is off and apart. Gimbal bearing, bellows, shift cable, etc. as well as other parts, are all wear items. Unless you enjoy doing this job over and over. Remember....there is never time, or money, to do it right but always time, and money, to do it over.

Never has that axiom been truer than when working on a boat.

Little update. Gimbal bearing and seal are out. Looks like it was already a sealed bearing replaced at some point. New one this week

Splines look good. Any red flags yall can see?

Finally, last picture, that bell crank was pitted more than I thought. Seems like cast/pot metal. Should that get scrapped or useable?

New gimbal is in, I got an alignment tool.

The old gimbal I tried before I removed and it basically slid in and I could turn the rod with 2 fingers basically.

The new one slides in by hand but I need to basically give it a little push to get in in the splines, then it's tighter (to the point I can spin it with one hand with some resistance, but not just 2 fingers esentially). Is that ok?

Sounds pretty close. The bearing itself can be tweaked slightly to get it centered the same as the old one. Grease up the end and look at the witness marks from the splines after starting it into the coupler. See which way it has to go and make the adjustment with the alignment tool before it enters the coupler. As scoflaw said, you should be good but there is room for improvement.
