48 DA Owners Club

Is it listed by Keenan Marina? If so, we wanted to look at it last fall but the seller was not interested because they had not found their ideal replacement boat. I was told the boat was pristine & kept at a private dock behind the owners house.

Freshwater is definitely worth it, but that list is quite a bit higher than what we purchased for! We bought an 08 freshwater from Lake Lanier and LOVE IT! Just drove her to our slip tonight …. Then it snowed ⚓
Congrats on finally finding your dream boat!!!

Ok so todays plan was to do all impellers. Since this is my first time with QSC’s I decided to do the port side first since it is the easiest. WTF what is wrong with these engineers. The damn pump is 1” too close to the block so you have to fight the damn impeller the entire time. I have Both the bolt extractor and the to puller took and had to use both. What a pain in the ass, fought that impeller for an hour to get it indexed right and installed. I never understood why these damn engineers cannot “build in” the correct space to do service work correctly. Literally all it needed was to be 1” out from the block and it would be super easy to replace…but NO F ME…. Pain in the ass. Can’t wait to fight the starboard side…..
Now the Onan was a piece of cake, love how the whole pump just pops off, swap out the impeller and reinstall…
Starboard is going to wait until next weekend as my daughters skinny boyfriend is going to be enlisted to do that one.

@ocgrant
Which extractor did you use?

Both the bolt that threads in and extracts it but needed the puller to get it the rest of the way. Pulling was not bad.

@ocgrant What length bolt do you use to pull? On my old 420, the bolt was maybe 6 inches long. Same thread pattern as for the impeller on the 48. I ran into the same problem as the ECU was in the way. Out of frustration, I had my marina change the impellers. $$$.

I took an old impeller with me to Fastenal and bought a shorter bolt. Maybe 3-4 inches in length. I was hoping that that would work in the future. What was the length of bolt that you were using?

The bolt puller tool came with the boat it is about 2 1/2 inches which is about a 1/2 too short in my book. I planned to buy a little longer bolt to try and make it easier to extract. Still because of the ecu plate they are a bitch to get lined up and installed. I am glade I didn’t spend $200 bucks for that “funnel” tool as it would have never lined up to work IMO

So this guy owns a detailing company out west……wrapped his 48 black… the boat behind me in storage is getting his 40’ wrapped blue from white. I talked to them and they said $8k to wrap my blue. I will take pics tomorrow …..not sure I like it

Not bad... I think it would look better without the white. I always think the Pershing Grey would look awesome on our boat. One thing for sure is we are lucky as our boat has timeless lines that still look great today

So took a look again today. Installer didn’t remove the stripes… so you can see the stripes thru the vinyl ….. the girl said 5 years to remove it after that it is close to impossible to get it off. I don’t like it

So have any of your wives taken a steak knife to your freezer ice to aid in the defrosting only to puncture the freon line in the bottom tray? I hope not, but if anyone has, please let me know what I'm looking at to fix/replace.
Thanks.

What is going on around here?

Maybe the wives actually wanted a new refrigerator and decided to take matters into their own hands?

I'm usually not one for conspiracy theories...
