I own three different power washers, all with Honda 13.5 engines. The first one I ever owned is over 12 years old. All get regular maintenance and winter tuneups.

Today I was working along fine, then a sudden shut down. It has lost compression.

A new motor is around $800. In your opinion is it worth a rebuild? It has about a thousand hours or more on it

Nope almost the cost of a new one. You will still have your old pump with 1000+ hours.

The Honda gx 630 On Our pressure washer at work had issues (since resolved) I was looking for a replacement and NOBODY had one, I was being told 6 months out. Yours may be easier to find

I had a generator that did the same thing, running fine then no compression.
It turn out to be the valves some how were out of adjustment, I adjusted the valves and it runs fine.
It is still running today.
Might be worth a try.

I have a utility ATV on the ranch with a Honda 360 10 HP engine. A few years ago a buddy used it, ran out of fuel and the only fuel immediately available to him was from an old car project. He siphoned out what was probably close to varnish, the engine ran just long enough for him to return it when it quit. No compression. turned out to be a bent push rod. The bad gas caused a valve to stick and bend the push rod. I flushed the tank, ran some Marvel Mystery oil in new fuel, cleaned the valve and straightened the push rod. Been running like a champ ever since. It warns right on the tank to replace fuel if the fuel is more than six months old. Check your push rod. It might be an easy repair.

The pump is AR and only has 200hrs. I plan to remove it tomorrow and take the engine into a friend of mine to get his opinion. I guess this will be worth looking into it further. I’ve been wanting to replace it with a new electric start engine

Ok just a update. We got it apart today. The keeper for the intake valve broke. That caused the intake valve to fail as well.

New valves, springs, keepers are going to be replaced. About &65 in parts

So I wanted to drop a update. I broke the valve keeper and dropped the exhaust valve. I replaced the head and some other bad pieces. Muffler and such. Put it all back together and ran her today

Damn if she didn’t do it again! She ran for three hours and failed. No compression.

I bought a new DuroMax 18hp motor today
