Anyone have any luck with cleaning or reconditioning (painting?) the windlass foot switch covers? Tried about everything I can think of. Just cannot seem to get them clean.

I did take a rag soaked in a 50/50 mix of bleach and water and let it lay on them for a while and it helped a lot, but I do not think they will ever look new. I am going to try the SS ones soon.

Mine were bad too. Very chalky and stained. I hand sanded the covers then painted them with white rattle can paint. So far (one year) and they look fine. I may repaint this year with more of an off-white than a bright white. As you can see, my navigation lights need to be next!

I used Lysol Bathroom Mold and Mildew Cleaner. I soaked a rag and let it sit there for a couple of hours. Make sure it is at least 80 outside. Keep the rag soaked with the cleaner.
