I have these 2 anodes on a 99 340 DA. They look like they have been there since 99. My questions are, how do I remove the disintegrated one and what do I replace it with? I see 2 screws and something someone used to try to remove it with.

the other, I just need an order number or name.

Bill.

It looks like the screw heads are almost exposed. Try chipping away the old zinc with a screw driver then use a vice grip pliers on the screw heads. After removing the screws take a wire wheel on a drill ( or a wire brush). and clean up the contact point between the zinc and the sea strainer.

The orange plastic in the middle looks like an "indicator" that a company like Performance Metals uses with their Navalloy (excellent, by the way) anodes. Basically, telling you when to replace. Look for a "sea strainer" anode.

Once you remove the screws you should be able to pop off the anode. The plastic thing has nothing to do with attachment/removal.

Look for anodes for Southbay strainers. As mentioned you should just need to know distance between screws. Boatzincs.com should have them.

Just unscrew clean surface and replace. The strainer is probably brass.
