Official (1998-2002) 310 Sundancer Thread

Hi Jon
I always figured it at 28 GPH
I have done Macray to put in bay and back to Macray on one tank, barely. it’s about two 2:40 each way, 30 mph Cruise.
If it gets rough you will burn more fuel.
Where are you thinking of going?
Steve

Thanks Steve, Put in bay in early July and Lexington mid August.

That's my dream trip!! We are going alone to Put in bay, So I've been doing my research on routes, looks pretty straight forward other then weather.

2000 310DA

I've been trying to do some research on running a cable from the arch into the cabin on the starboard side. I need to send it behind the electrical panel in the starboard cabin. I've removed the cushioned panel at the bottom of the arch to reveal the mounting bolts and wire loom. I've heard about removing a panel on the starboard side of the helm. Where the cubby and cup holder is? Behind it reveals the cables heading to the cabin?

Anybody have any experience doing this?

Cheers- JTK

To do the whole job, you need to remove the recessed panel with the molded in cup-holder, as well as the padded vinyl panel on the starboard arch. Then open the power panel hatches in the cabin. (they hinge down from the top). Once all that is done, you'll have a clear path from the arch into the electrical center of the cabin.

When you drop down the AC panel, don't forget to first unplug shore power (ask me how I know). That padded panel on the arch is pressed in with Christmas tree fasteners at the corners, so just use a plastic trim tool to pry it off.

The wire loom through the bulkhead between the bottom of the arch and the cup-holder section is sealed and likely full so you may need to drill an extra hole through that bulkhead. If you do so, be sure and seal it around the added wires to prevent bilge gasses from making their way into the cabin.

I have a 2001 310DA under contract but it has no nav electronics. Headed to the Grand Rapids Boat Show this afternoon and will hopefully see some options. The boat is unfortunately 300 miles away and so I’m hoping someone knows the dimensions of the left hand console plate and/or what size MFD will fit. Figure a MFD is a natural starting point for building up my gear. Tx

I'm trying to get my seats replaced before the season starts. Does anyone know how to remove the back cushion on this seat? There doesn't seem to be any good means of accessing the space behind it.

On that upper left panel I have a 12" Garmin, a Garmin card reader, and a Chain counter.
Here is some food for thought;

Wow, looks great. Good to know on the 12” Garmin. Are you running marine-fox gateways to pull engine data, or is yours just new enough to have the smartcraft connections.

My 2002 was ”smart craft ready”. I had to add a gateway from YachtDevices, a jbox, and all the cabling. Then i had to program the Port engine’s id to be recognized as port using a Rinda

And what did you use for the replacement gauges?

Those are all Veritron Viewline Flex gages. They are all the same part number and will accept data either from NMEA 2000 or via an analog input. You configure them via NFC from an iPhone app. They're pretty slick in that you can configure and re-configure at will. The tachs are also from Veratron, and again can read from analog input or from NMEA. The hour gages on those read right from your ecu so no worries about them falling out of sync, should you have to replace one of them.

Hmm, that’s not too bad. I was looking for info displays and their fairly pricey. I was contemplating building my own but that price is just above my early estimates. Thanks for the info.

The rear seat back rest is the easy one you get to all the nuts through the rear trunk. You will have to remove the side panels where your water hook up is and shore power one the other side plus in the starboard side storage compartment . You'll need to remove the back panel inside the reach them. Now the front seat behind the helm is a bitch. You can get to some of them under the passenger helm seat and removing the cup holders in the corner below the arch. I removed the starboard side seat bottom and with a 4" hole saw I cut a hole down by the floor to get access to the last bolts you can't get to. The two in the picture are the ones you I couldn't reach without the hole

Love your rocker switches with the symbols, can you share where you found them?
Did you just by the covers? Cost?
Thank you

Thanks for the info DVX.

I did manage to get the front seatback off. I was bought an inspection port and was planning on placing a hole near those starboard bolts, but after speaking with the guy who will make the replacement cushions, I decided to cut the two bolts with a hack saw blade instead. The cushion guy said he will provide a different fastening system to re-install them.

To whom is your question directed? I will arrogantly assume it was me and answer.

I ended up replacing the switches, although that's not strictly necessary since the covers are interchangeable. I think I got them from New Wire Marine, but there are several venders that can supply them.
