What size chartplotter will fit? Thinking of removing my old raymarine chartplotter and replacing it. Anyone already fo this and what size will fit that area? Can't get to boat till spring.
Thanks all.

Depends on the brand. I assume you mean the square-ish area on the left side of the helm? A 12” Axiom will fit there nicely. I suspect other vendors’ products will fit there, too. You can get a burl wood panel from Flounder Pounder or Technigrafix to cover any space and blend the look with the rest of the helm. It’s always best to measure for yourself when you have an idea what you’re thinking about.

We have a Raymarine a9 MFD mounted on starboard if helpful.

I have an E140W wide screen chartplotter mounted there.

I have a garmin 7612XSV but the 8612 would be the same size. Once you pick it, send the specs of the chart plotter to flounder pounder when ordering the wood inlay. they will cut it to perfect size for the unit. easy peasy! (trust me pay them to do it. Worth every penny.)

ok. So I have failing tach's. one went bonkers like 2 years ago. last run of the seasonlast year the other one started to bounce. question is what have others done? I like the OEM look and the hour meter, but am open to better options/ suggestions. I have one option of Flonder pounder/ searay-parts.com for oem I think they are like $232 a pop. Called local SR supplier and they want $285 and Sea Ray doesn't have them in stock. Shoot me some recommendations. what have you all done? under $500 is not the issue but don't was some digital tachs that don't look like they were built in the early 90's, you know what I mean? Let me know your thoughts! :)

Aetna tachs. They are digital and do have an older look to them. Super accurate and easy install.

Will need the extra trim rings if purchasing
I think my dad installed those on a 88 wellcraft San Tropez in 1990 and they haven't changed since! LOL

Yeah, that look is the one thing keeping me from pulling the trigger on them. I mean, they look fine. But they do look a little dated. I would love a more reliable tach than the OEM ones however!

Gentlemen, I’ve asked this question before and someone mentioned being very flexible would help!
Well, I’ve got a gas 400 Sedan Bridge, I changed the port impeller with no issue…….how the hell do you access the starboard ?

on diesels, the port is the problematic one. But the answer is the same in both cases: with your checkbook.

Boat yoga!

We have the 7.4L Horizons. I have a 2x6 I put across the engine stringers to lay on. If you remove the fire extinguisher and the coolant reservoir, you can squeeze back in there. I’ve also had good success with accessing the water pump bracket bolt/nut by laying across the top the the engine on top of a foam pad.

I do the following:

1 - Remove serpentine belt.

2 - Remove hoses from water pump. I access them from underneath. This is a lot easier if the hose clamp screws point down (note: make sure they point down when you reinstall them)

3 - Remove the lower bolt holding the water pump bracket to the engine. I can reach this coming in from the side left handed (stb engine).

4 - Remove the upper nut from the post holding the water pump bracket to the engine. The bracket rests on this post. You’ll have to move (push/pull) the coolant hose out of the way to get to the nut.

5 - Wrestle the water pump off the post, down into the bilge, and out from under the engine.

6 - Replace impeller, gasket, backing plate, housing, etc. as needed standing upright.

7 - Reverse procedure to reinstall.

I hope this helps!

Air con outlets/vents in the master and guest suite , do they have any filters/mesh etc behind them to clean , as I can’t figure out how/if they come out .

Ac systems usually only have filters on return run at the unit. I beleive our boats are the same. If you wanted to clean the ducts they could be detacthed from units output connection without any major bulkhead work.

Are they Smartcraft Sys Link SC100 gauges or the SC1000 gauge?
