Lake Norman - When is it safe to "spalsh" the boat?

Yep, it’s not awful. Marina did shut down dock water so have to plan accordingly, I’ve been keeping the aft cabin slider open and the door shut with the big heater and GenSet running when it’s really cold if we go out (about three weekends ago, 38)
Just watch water temp as it can be the culprit. Air temp has to be sub 0 for a couple days to cause a issue.

I have had a bilge heater in the bilge of the this boat and the previous 2. I do not think it has ever come on. I have 3-thermometers on the boat that I can check remotely now with one in the bilge. Interesting to see the lowest temp this winter….

which thermometers do you use?

Hey to all my Carolina brothers and sisters, especially the Charlotte folks…Who’s going to the boat show? I’ll be there Thursday and then the Queen and I will go again on Friday and maybe Saturday, let me know if anyones going. We can find a watering hole close to the convention center, first rounds on me.

So boat show was ok, no Marine Max, Sea Ray guys or gals there. Pier 77 were in force. Did have a great conversation with the Mercury/Mercruiser guys, seemed like they knew what they were talking about and recommended I switch the wet riser motor over to dry. Also bought the Queen a new kayak and some new custom berth sheets for both berths. As you might imagine, pontoon boats as far as the eye could see. From mild to wild and everything in between. Also got to meet the gentleman that everyone here raves about for bottom paint and detailing. Mark Allen, we set a date for 04/11 says he will have it for 7 days and if I'm not happy he will do it again or it's free. Should be good. Heading down tomorrow for systems check and lunch, supposed to be a beauty day.
