I thought I would post this information directly from a the SH Kent Narrows news letter.

I had posted earlier that Red Eye's would be closed for good and not be returning for the 2022 season, which at the time was what they had said was going to happen. Now they have changed there minds a bit. Here is what they just released in the news letter.

  • Red Eye's Dock Bar Restaurant update:
Safe Harbor is still in the process of restaurant design, site approval and permitting to begin construction of a new restaurant for this year. Rather than abandon the venue, we have opted to continue to provide an amenity by reopening this Spring. Red Eye’s Dock Bar is scheduled to open May 5th. Safe Harbor intends to provide a waterfront restaurant venue in the future. Stay tuned!

Very glad Red Eye's is going to continue through this season. Now the area will still have one of it's icon dock bars still.

I think I was there today. Went to look at 2 boats on Kent Island.

Safe Harbor is buying up everything it seems.

There was a stretch for me as well heading to the Kent Narrows area every few weeks looking at boats. Unfortunately my drives have been much longer on this quest.

An iconic bar and restaurant. Definitely on the edge of adult entertainment on the weekends. I just wish it was closer.:)

Just a question. Anyone been Shanty Bar at Tolchester? Great bands, free slips. No wet t shirts but a great time.

Yes, definitely a good time. Thing is, it is so close to Fairlee Creek we end up going there for the weekend. Shanty is only for the day or one night. Great fun though.

We spent a lot of time at Fairlee Creek last summer. That's a great spot. I've never been to the Shanty Bar but we're gonna definitely try it this summer. Can I just use the slips on the back side of the beach bar?

As you pull into the cut going into the marina there will be a guy who will give you a slip number and direct you to it. It’s very well organized.
Note: they frown strongly on you sitting on your boat eating and drinking. The free slips are to patronize the bar and food shacks.
They will say something to you.
PS- you can anchor off the beach, listen to the band, raft off with other boats if you want. The is no speed limit off the beach so it can be a little rocking on the hook.
