Safe Harbor, Southern Marinas and now REIT’s

When we used to go to KN, the kids were young so Redeye was a walk past. Now kids grown and gone, it’s closed.
Ya that about sums up my life’s timing.

You get a reprieve, there back for next year. Permit issues with SH brought them back for their last year this year.

This whole Safe Harbor discussion is humorous. It sounds like they are consistent in managing their properties, at a minimum. Promise, change, promise, change.

Up here in Michigan they have talked for 3+ years now about knocking our main marina building down and replacing it. Well, they finally knocked the building down in November...with no permits or contracts secured to build the new one :)

I can't wait to see if this sand pile becomes the actual oasis they planned before memorial day...

They did same in port Clinton…. Really nice floor poured….no building since summer

Safe Harbor bought my marina last year. They have also bought all of the other large marinas on LKN so there is no where to run to. I am in a yacht club/marina. So far I have seen little change in the operation. They posted a bunch of rules and procedures but none were more than common sense. They have invested in the facility with new wifi and cameras and capital improvements to the clubhouse. I was expecting the worst but it's not happened. So far no rates increases. Fingers crossed on that one.

Safe Harbor has bought 2-marinas on Lake Lanier in the past couple of years. I believe they bought Aqualand Marina, the world’s largest inland marina, about 4 years ago and then purchased Hideaway Bay the following year. Have not heard much of anything, negative or positive.

The Safe Harbor (Tennessee) that runs our marina changed their name last year to Sun Life Marinas. I assume to put a stop to the confusion between them and the big Safe Harbor who is buying everything up.
