Official 510 DA Owners Group

Hi, does anyone have any information about removing the roof on a 510 for highway transportation?
We have a 2015 with the glass windows, and rear sliding doors.

You’ve come to the right place! I just removed my hard tops couple months ago in Chicago, had it trucked across country to the bay area in California, and reinstalled everything. I can walk you through it step-by-step, with pictures.

that sounds great. We have the top off of a 410 currently, but the 510 is another animal.

If you know how to PM me, do that along with your phone number. Little bit more complicated than I think I can accomplish in this text, and also your email so I can text you pictures of certain procedures.

you need to clarify what year your 510 Sundancer is….early 2000’s with hardtop or 2014* model with hardtop, windows , sliding doors and pods….

Sorry, your right. It’s a 2015 with the hardtop, full glass windows and the rear sliding door.

Just sold of my 2001 510DA. And I mean just sipped up the flat this afternoon for the last time. New owners plan it to truck the boat from Florida to Connecticut. Why move a boat like this to the land of limited summer weather is beyond me. And if that was the goal then I’ld float the boat north. Be a cool trip. But I digress; they are committed to taking her top off and slamming her own a long bed truck. Based on some of the questions I’m getting question I’m thinking the boat haulers are not as well versed in this model as they should be. Be great is you could share some of the technical issues with me as well.

They say that the second most happy day of a boaters life is selling the boat. Not true.

Performance numbers for the 51 DA with QSM11s? I looked but don't see anything mentioning cruise speed and GPH.

Thanks.

I currently have my refrigerator pulled out, I’m converting the television cabinet above it into storage with a flatscreen television on a swiveling mount as the front of the enclosure. If you would like, I could measure the refrigerator for you… mine still works well but I plan to find a potential replacement refrigerator so that if and when it goes out I have a quick fix. I’m planning on just finding something that’s The same size, anything I put in there will be much more energy efficient and quieter.

I'm curious...what do you plan to replace your fridge with? I am looking to replace the 110V only fridge in our 1994 500DA with a suitable 12/24 VDC/110VAC unit. We stay out on the hook most weekends and running the generator to keep the fridge cold seems like a waste. Who makes a large dual voltage unit suitable for the 500?

Pulled her out today for ....bottom job, TNT swim platform hydraulic cylinders repair/ replace, new generator, underwater light, cut/buff/ceramic

If you can't find a dual voltage fridge, have you considered an inverter.

Bottom jobs done, New Westerbeke generator is in and ready to fire, 1000 hour service on 3196's ( I could use some new heads...long story ) , Lumitec underwater lights with poco controller from amazon tomorrow, waiting on TNT swim platform hydraulic rams being rebuilt (new not avail)...I have a hookup but you would need to ship to Tulsa. Cut/buff and ceramic coats done...she looks like new !

Hello, it's been awhile since I've been on here. Still on the ledge on upgrading from our current 370DA to a 510DA. We know it's a huge difference but we want more room for full time live aboard. Someone told me that the 510 is an "unusual ocean ride", what ever that means. Can y'all chime in on comfort for say FL to the islands etc...?

I had a 400DA for 10 years....no comparison on ride...510 will go anywhere you can afford the fuel...further than that ship it

I have not captained a boat in the ocean...but I've been on several...I think it's ALL weather on the ride
ie...Miami to Nassau

Interested in what other like minds say

I can't over emphasize the difference between "lake" 370/400's/gas, ETC and the 50ft+ Diesel boats !
Night & day and maintenance is BIG !

IMO...buy a salt boat for that trip or be done with yours when you get you fill of the islands/Florida/loop....

Has anyone replaced the refrigerator in the salon? Looking for suggestions of what’s worked well for others, what fits, etc. Standard AC is all I want.

Good Afternoon CSR 510 members. I am finally able to be a part of this forum as I am moving up from the 460 thread.

The paperwork is done on the purchase of the 510 and the sale of my 460. Only waiting on the survey Monday for the 510, then we are good to go. We found an absolute beauty and it is our dream boat. The best part is that we were able to finalize the deal on my wife's birthday Wednesday AND the 510 is currently in my harbor...no long trips to see it or bring it back home. A more perfect scenario there could not be!!

I have read the entire thread and now ready to learn more over the coming months and years from all the great members.
