Hello folks; my mechanic says I have Zeus trim tabs not Bennett and doesn’t know how to reset them since they stopped working. Any ideas ? The boat is a 2014 510 fly
Thanks Jedd

This all gets programed in Vessel View in the settings menu.
If you don't know what you are do you can mess up other stuff.
Sounds like it is best to bring it to Marine Max.

OK, Then as @Spark600 said.
These are all coordinated electronically, not in the vesselview, but in the ECM in the power package. While running, you can adjust your trim tabs or manually or you should have an 'auto' feature at your helm.

There is a manual override on each trim tab actuator that is on the pod in the engine room. However, I think those are more for an emergency type situation. If your mechanic is not a "Zeus guy". I, peronally, would find a new mechanic when it comes to the pods.

As an aside, may i suggest filling out your profile with location, and someone here may be familiar with a certified zeus mechanic near you.

Lastly, there is a section just for PODs which you may want to peruse

Good luck with it and please post what you find or if you need more.

Hi Shaps; thanks for responding. May I ask where is the power package located ? Is there a manual that explains how to reset the trim tabs ? How do you identify the manual over ride in the engine room and will resetting it restore my trim tabs. I have had a very bad experience with the local Zeus mechanic in the the past which cost me thousands of dollars and in the end the Mercury state rep flew in from hundreds of miles away to fix a communication problem between the flybridge and inside stations which had derailed the autopilot and skyhook.

Sorry...
By Power Package I was referring to your engines, transmissions and pods.
They are controlled by an integrated computer that also includes your joystick.

May I ask why you think you need to reset the trim tabs? What are you actually trying to accomplish or what problem are you trying to solve?

If you take a look at the photos in this post
http://www.clubsearay.com/index.php...ctuator-connector-failure.91360/#post-1123382

You will see what your pods and trim tabs look like. There is also a picture of a trim tab actuator in there.

Would should call this guy, I have recommended him to four people and every one of them said he was there new mechanic.
He owns Prime Marina in Southampton he is also a mobile guy.
One of my friends just bought a boat with Zues drives and wanted it winterized so he came to look at his boat in the slip to give him a price.
He said they talked for about two hours on the motors and generator, one of the things my friend said they talked about was the bypass buttons on the pods for the steering and tabs.
He also pull a transmission out of my friends Mainship right in his slip ( Patchogue ).
He changed my pod prop seal for $ 350.00 each with the seal + Oil ( Boat was out of the water ). I don't remember how much the oil was as I had him change all fluids in the boat.
You should give him a call and talk to him on the phone, He is so knowledgeable on pods and very reasonably priced,
Robs cell 516-883-2404 For motor work he goes under Superior Diesel.

Thanks for all the info . I am in Vancouver BC, CANADA. The problem is when i activate the trim tab switches on the dash nothing registers on the vessel assist screen or the DATA screen of the Raymarine MFD. The bar graphs don’t register any movement where it used to tell me how much tab engagement I had

@Jedd
I think you need to determine whether or not the Trim Tabs are ACTUALLY moving first.
Then we can try to figure out why they are not registering on your MFD.
Can you also confirm that the Tabs are not registering on your vessel view? Is that what you mean by vessel assist?
What Vessel View do you have?
In the programming of the vessel view, there is a choice of sources for the trim tabs. I believe you would need to select TVM as your source (TVM: Thrust Vector Module) This is how the vessel view refers to your pods.

Edit:
Lastly, there is a personality file for your boat that only an authorized cummins/mercruiser mechanic will be able to get from Mercury. If it needs to be reloaded for some reason, you will need to find someone capable of this.

Shaps I can't thank you enough. Today I
went into vessel assist 4 and changed the
source for the zeus tabs to TVM and they
work. If you could see the smile on my face
Thank you so much for tuning into the forum

I have Cummins 380

@mike lipomi
FWIW,
your zeus pods are a product of joint cummins/mercruiser and are serviced by cummins/mercruiser technicians.
I have CUMMINS QSC 550s and ZEUS Pods...
Good luck in your search sir.

As an edit, when your pods need parts, you order mercury parts.
If you are asking solely about your engines, apologies.
In your original post you mentioned your pods.
