Has anyone made any modifications to the 3 spot cupholder at the head of the port lounger? It seems with solo cups or something low and squatty they work ok, but if you try putting a beer there, or something taller they tip very easily.

Thought maybe something as simple as a whole bunch of washers or 3d printed risers to raise it up a few inches would easily solve that, but i'm open to more elegant ideas?

A few of these singles look nice when added to that starboard cup holder you have now or you can remake it in the type of wood of your choice.

I reused the existing cup holder. I had a guy I found on eBay make Delrin spacers to elevate the entire cup holder about 1 1/2 inch if I remember the height correctly. It makes the three cup holders actually useful and also provides a fiddle so items stored under the windshield on the port side don’t slide back into the floor. I’m out of town for the next week but when I get back I can get the details and pictures. I love the change. Easy, functional, and daily cheap (about $25 for Delrin spacers and $5 for longer stainless screws).

I had this picture on the phone. If you zoom in you can sort of make out the change.

Did the same as loneranger on my past boat (Maxum 2700) using stainless tubing and longer screws. Worked great.

Kinda what i was thinking of doing. I have a few friends here and there with access to 3d printers, so i'm sure if i can design a riser, its the easiest solution

delrindepot-4 is the eBay user name I used to make the Delrin spacers. It takes 7 of them. 6 of the same size and one that replaces the Delrin spacer spreader present just longer. I used calipers to replicate the ID and OD of the one already present. I’m pretty sure I added 1 1/2 inch to the height but the eBay order no longer has the details. I will have to measure if you want the exact measurements. Delrin depot-4 is easy to work with and got me the spacers pretty quickly.

So did you build the holder on your own? i saw the links are the hardware.

I didn't build anything... Just added the standoffs and longer screws to raise the existing cupholder.

Used to be flush...

A couple things you can do:
If you are a reasonable woodworker and want to spend a bunch on teak:

The alternative is to use your existing plastic piece as a template and redo in ¾” thick teak or mahogany. You don’t have to screw it down; a couple of dabs of a REMOVABLE adhesive (3M 4200) will do the trick.

I’m sorry it is such a bad picture. Lighting was horrible under the cover. Anyway I did add 1.5 inches to the height. The overall height is now 3 inches. You will need 6 spacers 1.5 inches tall and 1 spacer 2.25 inches tall to elevate the OEM holder to a total height of 3 inches. The OD of the one Oem spacer is 1/2 inch. Obviously 7 replacement screws 1.5 inches longer.
