Hello, I have A 1983 SeaRay SRV225 Mercruiser260
I need to verify what size fuse they have on the dash Panel for each device ( Water System/Blower/cabin lights etc...) there is a toggle switch and a twist off Fuse holder/cap
for each switch there is a fuse I have a problems that these fuses are original and seem to be "fused " inside the fuse holder so its hard to twist the top cap and replace the fuse
If you have any recommendations for removing/replacing these fuses it would be appreciated and would you happen to know the correct fuse size

Can't help with the fuse sizes but push down before you twist.

Make sure you're pushing in/down, first. If that's still not working, try some penetrating spray like PB Blaster or even vinegar (ideally 30%).

If you check your owner's manual - or download one from SR's website, there is info in there about fuses/circuits. If you don't see your exact one, that's fine - the basic circuits will be the same. Plus, some of those older manuals actually has multiple boats listed in them.

If those are true glass tube fuses, would it not be better to replace them with the breakers like some others have? On my 92 300DA, I can't find a fuse one. But everything is breakers. Well, the factory stuff is breakers. Some of the aftermarket work has some fuses, in line.

I am trying to stay with the original setup ( using the toggle switches and the associated fuse for each accessory toggle switch on my dash)...thanks

I figured out a way to get the metal part that was still lodged in the Fuse holder cap.I sprayed with PB blaster..then used a bolt that would screw into the cap and into the metal part that was left stuck in there.. then could pull the old fuse "ring" back out of the Fuse cap I could read some verbiage on that that said 5A 32V

While I can't help you with fuse size, I would recommend upgrading to the newer blade-style fuses. They can be had for around $4 at most auto parts stores. Or, my favorite, https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/NW_785208?impressionRank=17 gives you an LED indication when the fuse pops. 'Makes troubleshooting a lot easier.

Definitely change to blade style, they make waterproof marine holders w/caps. Whether you butt splice or solder, use heat shrink that has the sealant inside, it will last for years and years to come.
I did my 19' VIP Bay Stealth about 10yrs ago and still no issues. Just did my ProLine 23' Bay in the last few weeks (just purchased, about 20hrs on the water thus far, running out great), and getting a parts list up for the 440 now, going down again next week.

Fuse/circuit info available from SR.

Good luck!

Thank everyone I found 5 and 10 Amp 32V and the yseem to work for every thing on the dashboard so far except my Rule blige pump (they call it the Step Down [ump since it is located below the steps ging down to the cabin......it blows 5 and 10 amp so far I need to detach it and bench test it to make sure it still works , it been offline for many years so I am not sure its not the pump itself

If it runs amd you can't get amp data from SR, put a DC ampclamp on it or series your multimeter through the A port using the leads. If it is in good shape and running you should be able to get a fuse just above the nominal amp reading you get and apply that.

I would replace all of the fuses holders with a breaker like this, if a new panel was not an option. https://www.westmarine.com/buy/blue-sea-systems--push-button-reset-only-screw-terminal-10a-circuit-breaker--P014122329?pCode=16932519&cm_mmc=PS-_-Google-_-GSC>NonB>Vendors-_-16932519&product_id=16932519&creative=504966948443&device=c&matchtype=&network=g&gclid=CjwKCAjw2bmLBhBREiwAZ6ugo5_L2bTukv8dQmLyeJHLMN6vcpZqDjOIlEepVIOQukNzh1wQGogr3hoCMNAQAvD_BwE

Also anything that you can't find the amp rating on, look at the rating of a new one or go by the wire size at the fuse holder.
As a general guide
Maximum Amps 7 10 15 20 30 40
Gauge (Wire Size) 18 16 14 12 10 8

This is very interesting..I appreciate you following up.....if i see enough room behind the face of the dashboard I just might use these
Thanks again

I had the same issue on my '85 Sundancer 250. Some of the fuse holders crumbled when trying to get them open. I wound up replacing them with circuit breakers that fit in the same holes as the fuse holders. They also have a silcone bubble over them.

I used PB blaster spraying from underneath and behind as well as in front and I got all mine to loosen up. just give it a day or two to soak in. I kept mine all original and they still work fine. I had to replace one switch and found a perfect fit right from Advanced Auto Parts and it even lights up at the end of the toggle. That switch was even easier to wire than the original and it works perfect. Good luck.
