Noflex Digestor for bilge cleaning?

Awakening an old post. Curious after reading this, what the long term determination is on using Oxyclean as a cheap alternative to Noflex?

I followed Carter's poopy powder mixture. Easily bought chemicals off of Amazon and now I have a 5 year supply or more.

No issues using OxiClean here. We had some at the house so I took it to the boat. Worked great last season.

Because I ran out and listening to @firecadet613 i bought some oxyclean. I am not a fan. Have you fire, ever used noflex?…. Because the two are not the same.
Oxyclean does not dissolve the same…. Meaning it doesn’t dissolve. It also clumps in the bottom of the toilet and sticks to the rim when the ball opens. It takes more water to flush then noflex and it holds your duck bills open so you can’t get vacuum…. Without more flushing water.. so I am not a fan.
I couldn’t tell if it actually worked in the holding tank as it was at the end of the season and I flushed the holding tank out. In the spring I am going back with Carter’s poopy powder.

I used noflex once but it kept getting stuck in the ball valve rubber...oxiclean has the little scoop and I was able to pour it in nicely.

I'll hit @MonacoMike up for some noflex in the spring and give it a shot, maybe using the oxiclean scoop to pour it in will be the answer.

noflex... I would just throw it in the water and no problem.

pouring down the hole it is still is going to get stuck in the duck bills
I dont use alot of water as I am trying to conserve space in the tank

I have been using Carter’s formula since the spring with the same results as NoFlex. It finally freed up my floats and the gauge works now. I have seen no difference and love it.

Good info, I have used noflex for a couple full years, still have to clean my floats off at least once a year. Besides that, no flex has done everything I had hoped for.

how long did you use noflex before starting carters recipe?

how long have you used carters?

Thank you

With the current 420DA, I used NoFlex for about 6 months and have been on Carter’s formula about 7 months. Since the Carter formula is so much cheaper, I use more than is necessary and I am thinking that is finally what unstuck the floats.

If it’s just bilge cleaning, why not start with a healthy dose of Dawn dishsoap? Really soap it up, flood, agitate and rinse. Smells nice too.
If it’s holding tank and lines, I did the carter poopy mix. I ended up with 8 32 oz jars for less than $30. Now I am very generous in using it.

You guys are always costing me money. I just bought a total of 15lbs of Carter’s on eBay for $60 with free shipping.

This stuff made my bilge sparkle. I wore a mask and had lots of ventilation. BCP-Single-Can.jpg

I plan on giving Carter’s mix a try next season. Can someone list the ingredients here so I don’t have to dig through posts?
