Engines
454 MERCRUISER 340 INBOARDS
When I go to Boat after a week lay off engines have always cranked over about 5 to 10 seconds before starting the first time, then after that they start immediately when you touch the key every time after that..Week lay over 2 Week layover however long the same thing...Now all of a sudden the Port engine cranks over the first time for about 20 to 30 seconds then its fine the rest of the weekend so what's that all about ?? Fuel filters Maybe ??

New filters are never a bad thing but this seems to be a issue for all of our older Sea Rays. The guy that helps with my motor ( not a mechanic but a damn good gear head) thinks it has to do with the fuel evaporates from the bowls during the longer layovers.

Ok finally figured out my problem !!! It was the Electronic Module inside the distributor.
Installed new one and it fires right up like it always has.

No it was 87-892150Q02 SENSOR ASSEMBLY from mercruiser parts.com. Your part # is a sensor assembly from Performance Product Technologies but looks to be a different type distributor than mine...
