Have a 99 Sundancer 270 and need some advice on removing the back cushion for the lounger seat on port side. No access panel in the cabin that I have located, was not sure if its just Velcro or what. Any input would be great before I start yanking on things!! Thanks in advance. Its the cushion with the white tape on upper right corner.

This looks similar to the installation I had on my old 2003 260DA. That seat was through bolted and the interior needed to be removed. Not the best picture but it's what I could find quickly. Most of the seats that I have worked on with Sea Rays are through bolted.

Was kind of afraid of that, was hoping to avoid getting in to taking the interior cabin area apart. Thanks for the response.

If removing for re-upholstery......cut off vinyl around perimeter with razor blade..........remove cover and foam.....pre-drill for Christmas tree fasteners......dremel off the bolt heads......remove base. Re-install with Christmas tree fasteners.

I have the 2000 year model of same boat. I have removed all of the interior to have them reupholstered. To get the two back pieces on the rear facing lounger does require taking apart a lot of the interior in the rear bunk. It can be done. Just for slow and steady. Take pictures to remember where screws were taken from.

After I got it apart I epoxied all the holes to make the interior water tight. I reattached both bolsters with large pieces of industrial size Velcro type system. They are easy to remove for next time and they stay put. Actually requires a bit of force to remove them.

ive taken that boat almost completely apart at one time or another and can probably help with access to any part of it.

Do you have pictures of how you did it?

I did the same interior removal to get to that cushion on my 260DA, as well. It's not really all that hard - just time consuming.

I don't know which version of the 270DA you have, but I suspect you have the same, carpeted panel on the cabin side of that cushion that is the piece you have to remove. The thing is, you have to remove the ceiling before you can remove that piece. You COULD, if you wanted to, cut a hole in that panel and fix the hole by using a pie plate or access plate for about $15.

Thanks for all the replies, appreciate it. Figured there was going to be a considerable amount of disassembly to get to a few nuts & bolts! Guess I'd better get to it now so i can have it reupholstered over the winter!

You still didn't clarify what version of the 270DA you have. Often, it can be helpful to know the exact model we're trying to help with.

On page 6 I listed a lot of the improvements I had done to the boat at the time. One of the links is to the wiring runs for the stereo. Unfortunately most of the links to old clubsearay posts are broken. I think this site got moved or upgraded at some point that caused it.

so far I have not been able to find pictures or a post to when I took apart the interior to access the cushions.
