Happy Veterans Day to all the vet's around here

As a veteran of the US Navy I would like to thank all those who served and all those who support our past, present, and current veterans.

My dad got the Bronse Star with V for valor in Korea. Corporal, apparently the LT got killed and he stepped up and saved the, whatever they call it in the army. Never would talk, don’t know the details. Proud of him. He actually made seargant but got busted down for punching an officer. Never took shot from anyone. Hot headed Sicilian.
2 years in bitter cold of Korea in tents. Rest of his life he ate fried eggs every Sunday morning. He said for 2 years he ate powdered eggs and swore if he got home he was gonna eat real eggs.
Next May 15 he be 90. Still driving and kicking ass. Baddest man I ever knew. Saw him 5’5” kick the crap out of 3 guys who where bothering a girl.

PS. When I was a teenager I used to love camping. Asked dad why we never went camping. He said after 2 years in a tent in Korea he had enough of camping.
Back in the 50s when I was growing up, my dad was friendly with black guys. During segregation. Said they saved his ass many times in Korea and he wouldn’t tolerate anyone disrespect a black veteran. He is fkn amazing!
PSS. I was gonna join the Navy, at 17, during Vietnam. He beat me one Sunday morning in a fight and told me if I ever thought it again he would beat me worse. So I never served but Kudos to all you that did, and those who did but kept their kids out of harms way.
PSS. He had a .30 M1 carbine. In Korea. I once asked if he was a good shot. He said aiming was for the movies. His never came off full auto ever, you sprayed the whole magazine. Pop in another and spray.
