@ocgrant , @JB MARSHALL , @Blueone ....thanks for the responses. This impeller replacement is going to be a bit easier due to splined impeller as opposed to keyed impeller on the 6CTAs. I do have an "extraction bolt" that I was using on the 420 and have already confirmed that the bolt fits the impeller on the QSC 540's. My major concern was getting the impeller past the SIMM. I will "practice" on the Port side as it is more accessible. Thanks for the encouraging words.

When you get it done you can fly to Ft Lauderdale and do mine. I am still trying to get motivated to do sewer lines this year in December or January when it is not 90 degrees in the engine room.

My motivation came from thinking about the nightmare of a crappy hose leak while I was away for a week's trip with another couple.... I am so glad I accomplished this and now I can crap in peace :D

Season wrap up. Going on the hard.

Shaps, Did you have your props done ? If so can you please tell me who did them ,were you happy and what was the pitch (Factory or did you change pitch) Thanks

I had one done by
Bossler and Sweezey and would use them again.
Was not impressed by the shop that did the others.

B&S did my props last season, was very satisfied with them as well. I don’t remedy the specifics, but I believe we slightly changed the pitch per their recommendation and familiarity with the boat. I’m shafts not Zeus though.

Did you package them up and ship them to B & S? Wondering how safe that is.

What did you pitch them at? I keep looking at this as I think our boats are under propped and should be 25 not 24. I am seeing burn marks on the base of the prop in the prop speed. Since I run long distance a lot and always have the extra weight of the jet ski on the swim step

Grant,

I also run long distances, and always have the dinghy on the swim platform. I'm currently running 25.00 X 29.00 variable pitch with .045 Cup, and have no burning in the base/root.

ocgrant,
Your boat always looks very clean! Good job. I was actually just looking today for those line/rope hangers online and can't find the ones that screw in. All the ones I've found are rail hangers. Anybody know where I can get them? They're not Taylor Made.

Yea, thats the prop set I need to change too. What are you using Michigan or Acme?

Thank you, Since they come on the boat I have never looked to replace them

Thanks to all that replied . The reason I asked about pitch is , I sold my diesel 40 sundancer to a good friend who had the prop pitch changed and it truly changed the boat . The boat ran higher rpm cooler, motors felt more free and a quick push of the throttles and boat jumped to full rpm. BTW in the 7 years I owned the boat with props at factory pitch boat never ran as well as after pitch change . I never realized the difference it makes.

Fellow 48’ers! Winter project to change out the 2007 factory headliners. Anyone tackle this yet? Looks like a puzzle for removal…. I don’t want to just start pulling apart with a screw driver, wondering what piece goes first, etc? Any help - much appreciated!

Looking forward to hearing about this. I have a couple of small spots that are starting to detach. I am guessing In will be attacking this in the coming year(s). Post pictures..... You might call Sea Ray and see if they have a "white paper pdf" on this. They are pretty good about providing service manual info to owners.

I think you find like most of the other large SR boats that the overhead panels are screwed in place. Where the screws are around the perimeter of the panel Sea Ray did not glue and staple the vinyl on the back of the plywood. They installed the panel then tucked the vinyl in the joint. So, first find where the screws are either by feeling them by rubbing your finger along the edges or sliding a thin blade around the joints then carefully pinch the vinyl and pull it out of the joint exposing the screw head. Patience and time....

Great information. Always wondered how that is constructed. I have a few spots that need some attention.

So completely removed the the Jabasco pressure regulator and installed this. Love it set the pressure to 55 psi and love my dock water. This has been on the to do list for a few months and now that winter is here time to start knocking out items
