Stolen Bravo 3 Outdrive

You have to applaud the prisons …child molestors seem to meet their maker before the end of their sentence
Not as often as you'd think. Depends where they are and who knows what they got sentenced for.

Unreal, after being a NJ cop for 20+ years now i can never understand how low some skells will go. I keep my boat home in the off season and chuckle every time i go past my marina and see boats with the drives on in the winter. Its a welcome and come steal me sign.

Jail reform in NJ is a joke. I have locked up shitbirds for major crimes like aggravated assault, domestic violence and sex crimes. Sometimes before im even done with the paperwork they have been released. Its almost like why bother anymore

That's everywhere. Disgusting and demoralizing to the sheepdogs.

Yes sir, bring back the old school days when i could zap slap a theif, bitch slap a molester or gut punch a wife beater. Now i have to worry about their feelings. F that

With tools and other pricey things, it is common for the scum bags to return for the new one once it's replaced by insurance. Have heard that is what they are really after. Hopefully the cameras are up before then and make them think twice.
About 10 or so years ago this happened to a guy I knew, soon as the new one was on, it was gone.
There was a marina around here, dont recall which one, had an out-building. you could take off your outdrive during winter and store inside so it wouldnt get stolen.

Yikes…. Tell us how you really feel. I am sure you can sneak something in once in a whileo_O

With cameras etc, they seem to have more rights than law abiding citizens now. I've had inmates/prisoners try to sue me. Cameras thankfully can work both ways sometimes...

I'm not going to say anything on the law/ criminal thing. And I have MY reasons.

There has been more than a few drives come up missing around me. And it's getting to be a big issue. I have motion lights and cameras around both boats. But I also remove them when I feel the season is done for me. Have a guy down the road that buys old boats to scrap them for the parts. He has lost a lot of drives. And every one of them was carried off the property via his driveway that is at least 500' long.

I had my outdrive stolen many years ago on my first boat. It was in the dealers yard. At that time there was an outdrive lock available. Don't know if they are still out there. The dealer since required one on any boat stored at the property.

I heard from Geico today. They're sending out a surveyor and let me know that they're depreciating it by 80%. This was on my voicemail. I need to talk to them in person! Ugh!

Would be interesting to know how they came up with that kind of depreciation on a trailered boat? Do you have a ridiculous amount of hours on your boat? Could see it possibly on an old B3 that was moored with corrosion issues. The gears and clutch in the upper case alone are a couple g's.

They haven't even asked for the hours (which are at around 280), and the boat is in excellent condition. They haven't even seen a picture of the boat. If this stands, I'm going to be on the hook for 7 grand or so.

I would think more that they would depreciate it TO 80%... meaning you would be on the hook for ~2 grand.

Plus the cost of the props, I would expect 100% for them, and any additional hardware.

Also request shop labor reimbursement to have it installed and tested.
