I'm kinda bummed with Amsoil...a premium product (price wise)

I've been using Amsoil filters on my boat since I bought it. They are expensive (compared to Merc/Quicksilver) but I always assumed I was buying a little extra security for my engines.

Two weeks ago I ordered up my filters for this years winterization process. Everything but the Amsoil filters came from Amazon, delivered two days later, as usual. I just realized yesterday that two weeks had passed and still no filters from Amsoil.

No communication from Amsoil until I reached out today, two weeks post-order. They replied with the standard "supply chain constraints" response, which I realize is legitimate, but with no offer to improve, expedite, "overnight when it becomes available". They said maybe one week, maybe two, they don't really know.

So....that sucks. At least put a note on your order entry form that items aren't in stock when someone orders them. Or confirm the order with an email describing the situation and tentative delivery dates.

Not a big deal in the grand scheme but thanks for letting me vent a bit, CSR :)

Nothing wrong with Quicksilver filters (probably better than Amsoil) And they’re sitting on the shelf waiting for you at your local Walmart. I always thought Amsoil stuff was overrated. I won’t run their oil in my snowmobiles. I do have mechanic friends that swear by Wix filters.

I hate when I order stuff and they do not indicate that it is oos.
As far as the filters go, I would use a well regarded brand and let the oil analysis confirm that particulate count is below acceptable limits. Most will.
You should know up front though that I’m not one of those that obsess about my motors. :)

I order everything off eBay …you can see it’s in stock and track it against their promise date….and most everything thing is refundable and free return shipping. I also stick with OEM’s products…. I have been doing this for years and years…. I boycotted Amazon 10 years ago

I run Wix on everything I own (gas cars and boats, diesel truck, motorcycles) and have never had an oil-related failure. Researching filters, the higher-end Wix filters still have steel end-plates capping the filter material, whereas 'most everyone else has gone to cardboard! NAPA "Platinum" filters are actually the better but re-branded Wix filters, so they're easy to obtain.

Everything I ever read claim wix is supposed to be one of the best out there plus they make a lot of filters for other companies that then put there name on them.

Holy crap....I believe my household would cease to function without Amazon. I think my Crest toothpaste is out for delivery this morning, in fact :)

Ya it’s just me after a really bad experience with Amazon…. My wife is some special prime and my kids use it… but so far I have stayed pissed off with them :)… although…Bezo’s yacht and space flight has helped too
