Didn’t really travel much on the boat last year and ended up with water from a bad fuel cap seal in my tank. We pulled out about 2 gallons of water with a little over 100 gallons of gasoline.

The first fuel filter we pulled off after putting in fresh gas had what looked like jellyfish floating in it along with water. I have burned about 300 gallons of fuel and I am on the fourth fuel filter since putting in all new fuel and had about a teaspoon of water in it. Have not seen any of the white jellyfish looking stuff. People have told me that is the beginning of tank corrosion.

What additive would I put in to stop this corrosion and be certain any algae eliminated?

I add this every time I fill up...

The BioborEB won't hurt anything but the primary problem Mike has is water in his tank and I don't see anything on the label about dispursing water.

I'd look for a general gas additive that disperses water that does not containl alcohol.

or……
have a fuel cleaning service come to the boat and clean the tanks.

From one weekend to the next any water in the fuel will seperate out and be laying on the bottom of the tanks and it is going to be very difficult to get that water out by passive methods. If this were May and you had a boating season to run the boat and cycle a lot of fuel thru the system and change a lot of filters, you might get it all out.

Good luck with it…………..

If you're consider fuel cleaning/polishing I'd recommend Torre Miller at Diesel Fuel Doctor (517) 605-5788. He's in your area regularly.

MEK, methyl ethyl ketone I remember as the basis for Dry Gas. I believe it was used to remove water from gas. Hopefully someone with a better chemical background will detail.
