Relatively new to boating. Started this year. So, I can’t give a good judgement on prices before covid.
Can anyone please advise me on what a well maintained 2011 Sea Ray 260 Sundancer would go for Pre-Covid days (let’s say in 2019) VS Today’s Price which are influenced by the increase demand for boats and other recreational toys.
Thanks

Welcome aboard @just1time ! I can’t personally answer your question without doing some research. Hopefully someone here will be able to offer you a meaningful answer without ridicule or arrogance. Keep your fingers crossed!!

What does it matter? The market is the market. What were gas prices pre Biden? It doesn’t matter...

You don’t know the context of the the deal am working on. So you can’t assume it doesn’t matter. It actually does.
If anyone can remember what they were going for pre-covid I would appreciate it

BUC and others maintain historical sales data, but I'm not sure if that's available to the public. Any boat broker should be able to look it up for you.

Another thought - ask your surveyor. I'd bet they would have a pretty good idea of what your specific boat would have surveyed for in 2019 vs today.

Boat prices are up. It depends on the brand. Our jetboat is worth more than we paid for it. We had a survey done on our SeaRay in 2017 the value is what they are selling for now. Operating cost are up in 2013 our marina shop rate was 65 an hour now it is 110.

If you can get a broker or surveyor to print off “Sold Boat Data” for the model you are looking at for 2019-current, you can see exactly what they have sold for during those dates.

I bought a 2011 fully loaded 260 DA new in 2012 and sold it in 2017 for around 75K.

PM me if you are really thinking about buying a 2011 model.

Oh, the silly games people play.
Spent a life making “deals” work. It only matters in ones mind...

@just1time - I guess I was wrong. Seriously though, I remember a time when members were actually welcoming to new folks, but it sadly appears that this is no longer the case for a few on here.

Pointing out what is a relevant to the current transaction is not being on unwelcoming. Inquiring minds want to know the “context” that old prices matter. I get that valuable info then I will know how to use three year old stock data to make a bundle in the market and buy a fleet of boats...

You memory seems to be failing, you mean how “new folks” were treated that just wanted to get their pet pig onboard their boat, just to name one. LOL...
