Official 390 E.C. Thread

Due to a series of events some of my wires on the shore/gen switch got disconnected and 2 of the jumper plates got removed. Unfortunately they were not marked before hand and I cannot figure out where they go. Am an hoping someone can take some pictures for the switch and the inside of the breaker box and send them to me to get it hooked back up. My shore lines are ok but the gen is not connected currently.
Thanks

Any of you guys want to talk about a solution for the plywood seat boxes on the mid-80's 390s. Has anyone found a suitable way to replace them? According to the previous owner of my '87 model, they rotted out at the 10 year mark and he had a replacement pair built. Since I store the boat in a covered shed they have not rotted out again but they are not built well or or particularly attractive. I have never found a set of fiberglass seat boxes & seats from a later model and Sea Ray no longer has the tooling to make them. I have tried to find a fiberglass shop to make a set but none seem interested. Anybody out there solved this problem?

The only reason for those plywood boxes and panels to rot out is if the boat is left without the canvas and windscreens in place allowing the rain to constantly soak the panels. It's also the reason vinyl upholstery fails prematurely and is not good for your gauges and electronics in the dash area.

When I first got my 390 several plywood sections needed replacement. I fabricated new sections out of MDO plywood and treated the edges with West System epoxy. I painted the MDO with gloss white oil based enamel. So far 11 years later they are still like new.

The previous owner of my boat just built all new design. The C - dinette has coolers with drains built into the forward and aft seats and storage in the port. He also fitted an Ikea pull out couch inside, the aft section had hinged storage and he set the AC inside. (Sorry for all the throw pillows, I have a wife)
These are pictures I already had on my phone, if anyone wants more detailed photos please let me know

working on another issue with my 1988 390EC! According to the specs, the holding tank is a 30 gallon tank. Been having issues with it. Took it over to our gas dock to do some pump out work. Pumped out the tank. Once it appeared to be empty. Used a hose to fill it again as a rinse. Based on what we calculated with the water flow, it took about 15 gallons of water to fill it back up. Pumped all the fresh water out and again added about 15 gallons of water to rinse and then pumped it out.
So the question is, what is my other 15 gallons and why does it not pump out? I suspect it is a collection of waste and materials that is "stuck" to the bottom of the tank.
Is there something I can add that will break it up so I can pump it out? Can I use some of the chemicals they use in land based septic systems?.

You might want to go down and measure the tank to verify the size mine came with a 20 gallon tank and I think the 30 gallon was a option.
Also the tank fill hose is on the side near the top so the effective size is smaller.

I've heard that "Noflex Digest" is great for dissolving solid waste.

I made up several of these years ago out of some teak that I had laying around as I had several of the plastic ones broken. I ripped up some teak on the table saw and used the broken plastic ones as a template to drill and countersink the required holes.

New bottom job. Props all straightened out. New zinc. All new hardware below the water line...except the butt plug; and now it's leaking! Trying to figure out a way to stop the water without having to pull the boat out again ....
Any of y'all experience this debacle?

Can you see what area the leak is coming from?

Do you happen to have a model number for that Ikea couch?

Hello Everyone, we just bought a 390 EC that was in Port Credit on Lake Ontario, moved her to Lake Erie this past week to our slip in Port Dover.

Reading through the thread, lot's of great info on these big boats...I've learned a ton over the past 2-3 weeks.

Thanks to everyone in the past that has added valuable info to this thread.
