found strange compass...

Found this floating beside the dock today.. it looked like a flashlite floating in the water but turns out to be an odd compass. About 6 inches long. The arrow is pointing south which is also weird. Unsure of what this is from or if it fits into something?

It could be a pelorus, a fixed compass used to gain bearings or used to aid in swinging ship to determine your compass deviation

This appears to be probable looking closely at it... and to the person who asked about the arrow, the arrow always points south it turns
