Official 390DA Thread

Do you guys have any issues with leaks around the cabin door? My door is bowed so I have leaks around the top and bottom. Additionally the slider leaks between the two sliding pieces.

I assume I can take the slider apart and replace a gasket, but what about the bowed door?

For some rain storms I can put the canvas up and limit the water, but for hurricanes I will have to pull the canvas down.

I don’t know..my eisenglass is always up. It’s probably not the greatest to keep the water out if I had to guess

Back to my leaking cabin door.

I found a new door, but it’s $3000. For that price, I was thinking it would be better to go with a tinted acrylic door. It’s a flat structure, so this should be doable. Have any of you seen this on a 38 or 390 before?

Can't say I have seen it done, but then I've never seen this door bowed either.

Is there a way to lock the couch into a slightly extended position? When pushed all the way back the seating area is a little too shallow. It’s perfect when pulled out about 3”.

Has anyone had to re-bed/reseal the skylight in the salon? If so can you share any details on the project, as mine is starting to leak.

I'm almost positive that both of those issues are covered in this thread somewhere.

Mitch, I went through all 20 pages and didn’t see anything about dealing with a leaking skylight. Perhaps I missed it though, and I’ll re-read...

I also just went thru all 20 pages. I found the discussion about using the fillers to convert the couch into a bed which isn’t what I’m looking to do.

i just want the couch to be a couch with about 3-5” of additional leg support. I’m not sure if I’m clear with that. But instead of pushing the couch all the way back make it stop short of going all the way in. You can just rest it there but then it slides anytime you get up and down.
I’ve put door stops under the bottom edge which keeps it from sliding forward but not back.

I’ll do more searching. Maybe this was covered in one of the other sport yacht threads?

Has anyone replaced the old Ray 230 VHF radio? Mine crapped out. Looking for an easy replacement/install.

I did find something in the 420 page about the skylight leaking. It appears others have removed as much of the black calking as possible w/o removing the actual glass and then re-calked.
I will update any info as I figured out how I want to address mine…

I resealed the two sky lights on our 2006 290SD. It’s a slow but easy job, remove the calk and re calk. I used painters tape on both sides calk joint to keep the lines straight and clean. No more leaks and looked great. This is a very common problem we had water stains in strange places from the water seeping in and traveling inside the cabin.

Yes I did. Removed all boxes and wiring and installed a new VHF where the speaker was.

I can when next I go to the boat. But it is really simple. Location of new VHF is at starbord wall in front of throttle controls. Antenna connector is located behind the wall coming from the arch.
