Table Rock Lake

Better bring your jeans….a couple of nights are forecasted to be in the upper 40’s. At least minimal rain chances.

Yeah, it was a chilly weekend. Didn't even go out Saturday. Sunday we had a pontoon running from the dam all the way across the channel. He cut off at least a dozen boats coming south, including us. Never looked, never altered course, even when an go fast missed him by 10 feet. He had at least 10 passengers. It was amazing.

Fireworks Sunday night were nice, but very cold. There was a legit wind chill.

Ahh....good times on holiday weekends. We never left the dock over the weekend....weird weather for a holiday weekend.

How was everyone's 4th? We had 14 people on our boat all weekend. Had a trip to the Tiki Bar and watched fireworks at Big Cedar. Good fun had by all. A couple weeks ago I jumped off my boat to tie it up at our marina and got 2nd degree burns on both feet from the dock in return. Good times... four hours at Cox and 2+ weeks walking on my heals. 16 years I have been tying up my boat at the same marina dock barefoot and no problems. I don't know what was so special this time, except I'm 16 years older...

We had a good 4th. We had a fish fry on the dock Sunday night. I think we only took the boat out 1 time and spent the rest of the weekend at the dock and swimming and paddle boarding around the dock.

"Swimming and paddle boarding around the dock"?

Just an FYI and please be careful.

We try to be as careful as possible. We are fortunate enough to have an electrician on our dock who conducts an inspection on every dock at our marina each year. In addition we have a shock alarm, that should detect any current in the water.

Anybody been out over the last month? We have noticed a significant decrease in boat traffic this year from the last few years. I know gas prices on the lake and the road are a concern for many. State Park was $5.89 Saturday. Quite frankly, I expected over $7. 51 gallons was still cheaper than the detail we got last week.

We have only been out a couple of times this year. It does seem that boat traffic is down this year. I have not purchased gas this year, but someone on our dock did last weekend and they said it was $5.75 at Rock Lane.

Last weekend the lake was unnaturally empty. State Park said they had all their rentals out, and that may have made up the majority of the boats we saw. I was running 50+ MPH in the main channel. I can't remember the last time I could do that before October.
