Official 380 Thread

I'll get some pictures. They are on the windshield frame on each of the curved side windows.

Cheers!

Thanks Doc, I will try not to worry!

Curious if anyone has a transom locker that leaks water and if you have found a fix? It appears my water is coming in through the piano hinge

Anyone ever replace the up-down windlass toggle switch at the helm? I'm looking to replace and can't find an original. Any options for me? Thanks

This last week, the synchronizer gauge on my 99 380 stopped working. I have some alone time this week and thought i would give it a go diagnosing. I can get a new gauge from Flounder Pounder, but what's the likely hood of the synchronizer module being the culprit? I think I'll order the gauge just because I can.

So did you pull the trigger?
Sorry for the late reply.

Yes we did purchase the boat. After it was "fixed" we went to pick it up and sign the acceptance paperwork and the gen did the same thing again.. another week delay which turned out to be again low on coolant which was caused by a bad impleller and bad coupler (didn't even know about this). It's a kohler gen so have some research to do since I'm used to a westerbeke.

We took the boat to DC for the fireworks and it ran great. Had the gen on several hours no issues and was out all last weekend without incident.

Looking forward to many more weekends on the water these season!

Recently completed a total electronics conversion from 2001 Raytheon to latest Garmin technology on 2001 DA. If anyone is interested in original electronics (radar, MFD, Course Computer, GPS, VHF, AP, compass, etc.) send me a pm and let me know. Everything was operational when removed.

I am interested in the vhf, I actually need the headset holder/bracket

Thanks to @Mig22 and showing me his anchor washdown set up, I added one this year. Picked up the water by adding a T and valve in the floor compartment near the shower sump pump box, fished the cold water by the main salon AC unit, behind the couch, through the State room starboard closet and into the anchor locker. I had a friend make up the bracket. Used a piece of gray starboard with 5200 to mount to the boat…. Here is a pic

That Looks sharp!! You should share it on the Facebook page. My 380 already had an anchor wash-down. I will say that I really like the Zero Gravity hoses, but it didn’t create the pressure I wanted. I bought a short Flexilla hose, and it works better. The Flezilla is kinda like the standard hard wall hoses. Do you know how many GPM’s your pump is? Maybe I need a stronger pump.

The next hose I buy will be flexilla, seen one at @Coz slip and I loved it.

This is just off the fresh water pump, does enough for what I wanted

I’m looking for the cushion that goes in the back seating area outside to make up more sleeping space. The boat didn’t have one at time of purchase so I’d like to get one. If anyone has any info where I might get one it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I’d also like to know where to get the post for the above cushion?

Question: is it true I cannot mix different color coolants in my 454 carb engines? Has green now, I'm told red is a no no If green already in. I topped a empty overflow bottle to cold line. Should i suck it out? Engine has not run with both. Thanks

From a quick Goog
Can you mix different Colour antifreeze?

The answer that is a solid no. Even though green antifreeze and orange antifreeze or both made from ethylene glycol, it is the additives in the orange antifreeze that make it incompatible with green antifreeze. You cannot mix these together because it could potentially cause a lot of damage to your vehicle.Jul 18, 2020

There are another million and a half answers. For a question this generic (non Sea Ray, non marine engine, actually), you'll get quicker answers using the web. Be prepared for tons of ads about anti-freeze in your email browser...... ;-)

Question for you guys... Has anyone upgraded their original fresh water pump? Looking for one that can keep up with multiple faucets in use and is not as loud. Please let me know of any suggestions you may have. Thanks in advance.

Great question!! I have been thinking about the same. It should be an easy upgrade. Do you know what your current pump GPM is?
