Finally got everything installed. New upholstery, new cockpit TV, new black panels and VHF radio from Flounder Pounder, and all new W/R/B/G LED lights in the cockpit and on the arch (not pictured obviously). Really happy with how it turned out. I got there last weekend to check everything out and was really happy. Then, for the first time ever, my genny wouldn't start. If it aint one thing its another haha. I am putting the finishing touches on sanding then staining a reclaimed wood cockpit table I ordered this week as well. Hopefully it will be installed in a week or so.

2000 380 westerbeke blowing the main fuse on the gen when trying to start it from the interior panel. Fires and runs when started from the unit itself in the engine room. The panel switch won’t even light up when I try and start it. Anyone gone through this?

I know that Boat Outfitters has the hardware so I would call them and they may be able to give you insight on how to take it apart. Please document how it goes for the rest of us.

Doc,
I have it disassembled and ordered the parts from Boat Outfitters. Finding out they are one of few that still supplies the non-metallic original track. FP Marine has the track in aluminum only and you can get the trucks from either source. I wanted to stay with the original track because only one piece was bad. It was the upper track (there are two) and I decided to replace all four trucks (type "B"). 2 trucks per track. I will have pictures when I complete the task, but for now here is a print I got from Sea Ray for the 2001 380 Dancer. Hope this helps someone down the road. Honestly, it wasn't that difficult to remove.....we'll see how it goes back together.

As promised, here is a picture of the Tender after the new cushions were installed.

I refinished the console with ZEP and added new gas lines to the 6 gallon up front and the 3 gallon in the center.

The nav lights I got done in in May.

Cheers!

Good morning, We just purchased our tenth Sea Ray, 2006 380 Sundancer and love it!! Now its time for upgrades and I have some questions;
1, I want to replace cockpit ice maker with a beverage cooler / refrigerator, what size will fit?
2, replace TV above galley sink, it is mounted on a powered drop down so there will be limitations
3, Replace the Raymarine e120 to new chartplotter, not going to remount the radar on arch. Should I get the new e12 or change brands?

I would appreciate any ideas or links you have seen on Club Sea Ray.
Thank you

Welcome! I think all of these items have been detailed pretty well recently. Go back about 18 months or so and you should find lots of info.

Cheers! and let us know how it goes!

I can’t help but I’d be interested in seeing your progress. As I will probably do the same in the next year. Please post what you decide on.

I’m also not sure I will keep the radar.

what is the ice maker? U-Line SP18 or another model? I replaced my SP18, but had to do a bit of cutting of the opening. Yours is probably different, but if not I can recommend a nice cockpit fridge (120v only)

Don't assume that your TV has to stay in the original spot. Many of us came out of the 13" Panasonics, whose cavity made a great liquor cabinet as the TVs were moved elsewhere. Think in terms of streaming and over the air digital. A Roku TV or Fire TV makes things more simple.

My opinion is that it depends on what other electronics you have, and how they are tied together. If you start to move out that E120, start a conversation with me. I need one plastic piece in the display portion for another boat of mine.

I would appreciate any ideas or links you have seen on Club Sea Ray.
Thank you

Nova kool R1200 should be the same size as the factory ice maker, holds 36-40 cans (12 ounces) also no wasted freezer space

Thought I would share my 454 MAG MPI fuel usage chart. Recently added the Fox Gateways and was able to capture RPM, speed and fuel usage to help generate the attached chart. Results confirm what I already suspected (sweet spot between 2900 and 3100 RPM) depending on conditions. Of course, the numbers represent my boats current condition (full fuel tank; 3/4 full water tank; relatively clean hull; one person onboard; current and wind conditions; etc.). But, it does provide me a baseline understanding of fuel usage characteristics.

Red line almost linear, and basically the same as the 370. Speed costs money. Not quite enough speed costs you lots of money. These are not the most efficient joyride boats, but you can move a village of people when you want to. I did yesterday, but waaaay to the left of the crossover.....
Thanks for posting a real world curve.

Thank you. Please do let us know how did it go and if install matched the wires etc. TY

All went well. You’ll need to cut and splice the wires, since the existing connectors on the old detector are useless. But other than that, it went smoothly. The directions and wiring diagrams could have been written better, however, a quick call with technical support solved that issue.

Good morning,
Any recommendations on replacing the salon drop down TV on a 2006 380SD? Looks like a very narrow drop down with limitations.

Thank you

Here is a question...

Does anyone leave their shore cord on the deck when transiting? The bulk of the cord is festooned to the Starboard railing but am wondering if I should have a waterproof cap for the end.

Cheers!

Hey All,

I have been busy getting the boat ready for this summer. Here is a list of the tasks that I have done:

Tender:
Added Nav Lights
Repaired bearings on trailer
Set up new gas lines to New Main 6 gallon main tank and 3 gallon reserve tank
Recovered cushions
Added oil light to console. Tohatsu has an issue with the oil light falsing on and reducing engine to limp mode
Added a mount for the hand held VHF

Generator:
Replaced raw water pump. Bought a Johnson from Marine Pump Direct. Great service and pricing
Serviced oil
Replaced suction hose

Sea Ray 380:
Cleaned ground for start issue
Service oil
Installed grab handles on forward section of windshield. There is a gap for secure handholds going forward.
Coated Gel coat with ZEP for that "right out of the showroom" look
Removed and painted windshield wiper arms. Lost splined insert. Got new one from Freightliner dealer for $2.50
Installed fresh new toilet seat
Moved solar panels from front between rails to top of canvas. Used rare earth magnets from Custom Marine Products
Festooned shore cord to top of railing for safety with footing and reducing collection of dirt
Purchased additional dock lines. We are going in through the Ballard Locks and there is a lot of rafting

Been busy to say the least!

Cheers!
