Hi, I am a new SeaRay owner. 2004 260 Sundancer , This is my first big boat. I really do not understand the water system. I have 3 tanks in the motor compartment , Looking towards the bow there is a small tank "freshwater?" a middle tank "Blackwater?"? and a third small tank that has a pump. Is there a level indicator to tell when the tank is full? There's lots of videos on the web showing the features of this boat , I am finding it difficult to se an operational video. Any advise would be great! Thanks , sorry for the long post. Its my first one.

Small tank with the pump on it is probably your vacuum generator pump on top of your vacuum reservoir for your vacuflush head.

The easiest way to tell the difference is the piping used. Your blackwater system will be plumbed using heavy black or white hose that looks more like radiator hoses than water hoses. Your fresh water tank should be plumbed with 1/2" pex or CPVC.

Looking at your owners manual your blackwater system has a couple of potential configurations but both put the vacuum pump to starboard with the blackwater either full forward, starboard in the engine room (with your fresh water tank on-center) or the blackwater tank can be centered (with fresh water going to port) if you have a generator.

You will have a switch on your main AC/DC breaker panel for your waste (head) system. When it's on you should see a level indicator light up. You'll also have a momentary-on fresh water level light, you need to push the switch to get that one to light up.

Download the owner's manual for your boat from SR's website - look for the "supplement". Lot's of info in there. Sometimes you actually have to "read" and not just watch "videos" :)

In the center of the boat is the fresh water tank (no gauge, just look at it... shine a flashlight in through the sides, if needed). On the stbd side, the large tank is the holding tank. The third, smaller tank is the vac tank. There are level indicators in the holding tank - and IF they are not gunked up, will show on your tank gauge.

Thank you, yes there is a generator. On the AcDc panel there is no head switch. The only "switch" is in the bathroom. There is a key and when you turn the key on it provides a level indicator. I thought this option was only for the macerator ?
 
Having a genny may change the layout of the tanks - but it's easy enough to figure out from there. If you have a macerator, fully turning (and holding) the key activates the macerator if the seacock is open (and the seacock is wired).
